But not a backup solution and configuration management tool? I am disappoint.
Thanks for sending your feedback into the project suggestion box. we will take that under advisement.
meantime we use google cache as offsite backup.
"conspiracy theory"
Actually, I'll let you draw your own conclusions from that.

Looks great! (Though I haven't got it to work on my machine yet; my javascript level is very low)
for testing all you need to do is paste the code in console. when you have a post with a link. and then just hover with a mouse for a second.
One other place I think it could be really useful would be in the topic listβ(especially if it could mark displayed posts as read after an appropriate timeout
Adapting the solution to work for other internal links should be fairly easy.
basically we only need to expand the element selector. and find where to put the hook to call setupLinkEvents
depend on the view that we are working on.
may be in the future I will implement something like that. for know I am just going make the basic idea working.
You could make setupLinkEvents() take a post ID as a parameter and use Ember.View.reopen event to get any rendered posts, I guess. For every post you already processed you could add a class / data attribute to mark it already processed to avoid looking for links multiple time.
setupLinkEvents
uses a selector, to attach the "tooltip" event (mouseenter, mouseout). you can call setupLinkEvents() many times and it is safe.
line 37 from the gist
active_links = $(".track-link").not(".hasTooltipHND");
I think there's a new decoratePost function that you can use to get triggered on every post render.
This will cover us for the next 999 millions, @pjh can probably just add it in the custom script
Discourse.Formatter.number = function(val) {
val = parseInt(val, 10);
if (isNaN(val)) val = 0;
if (val >= 1e6){
val = (val / 1e6).toFixed(1) + "M";
} else if (val >= 1e3){
val = (val/1e3).toFixed(1) + "K"
}
return val.toString();
};
What changed:
Added escaping for bb tag([quote]) attributes, suppose to be more secure
Added some logic to eliminate the ridiculous md5 hash war (added a lot of unnecessary complex code)
Override the Discourse quote builder. to prevent it from escaping '<' and '>'
this will allow better quoting using the "Quote all post" button.

You're welcome. And thank you for making this a reality.
The challenge evaluate this expression using copy-paste
1*(1^3)*((997/1+3)!)/((997/1)!)
Microsoft calculator on windows 8 did a partial good job copy pasting that expression except
omitting the ^ and just wrote 13. and I guess this is the wtf here.
Google should be able to evaluate it but the expression does not invoke the calculator may be the numbers are too big for them to waste cpu
smaller expression works
So what calculator do you use?
93.38% success rate is great but I am disappointed by the 6.62% failure
How legit is this website? the name kinda speaks for itself

Are we? Or are we just really bad at acting like fake people?
We can fake who we are but we can't fake what we are.
After ten years we still haven't figured out @Nagesh, so I'd say we aren't too good.
Not sure who @Nagesh is but think about it that way, You have a black & white stripped domesticated horse, you can probably tell that it's an horse and not a Zebra just by looking at it.
someone took your horse and release to the wild into a pack of 100 Zebras. You are going to have hard time telling which of whom is your horse just by looking, due to the added noise. so your are going to have to rely on other senses.
You can try ride it - The true nature tend to reveal itself eventually.
same goes for people ** particularly stripped whores.
It's cool, you pretty much had won the argument when his responses degenerated to
He almost won it but
I'm hitting mute.
Is an automatic lose to any argument when not done before an argument begin.
"Deprecated" is a word that you use when something is no longer the preferred method of doing something...but it still works, and probably not going to work in the future.
I see a pattern here

On an unrelated note, those are really nice docs, and I've seen that style in a number of places. I would assume those are generated somehow -- anyone know how?

In more ways than one, because I already consulted my lawyer about it and his advice was that yes it would open up liability but that I likely incur more liability by driving downtown. In all likelihood, he said that if we were sued the court would side with us. If not, the highest liability would be treble damages. Which is still less than $50K.
The fact that you offered them 50k you made it pretty easy for them to set the minimum compensations for damages on at least 50k + legal fees.
You are also opening a door for liability toward you client and not just the software company
How much do you think it is going to cost your client to migrate away from the instances of the violating software you sold them. and who are they going to sue for those damages?
I doubt that you can circumvent a software to bypass a software DRM. and that will be legal because the company that sell the software is not willing to provision you another license or "support" it.
This does not put the software in the public domain. sure there are some exception when you can reverse engineer a software. what out diving into the specifics of the law I doubt your case is protect by any of DMCA exception.
I think this is less of a moral dilemma and more of a moron dilemma ( I am new here and I understand you have to be mean to be part of the community so no offence)
That's quite metaphysical. What would be the preferred payment method for $0.00?
bitcoins because metaphysically that what it's worth.
We are sorry but we are unable to let single MEN OR WOMEN without children into the park. If you are here to meet someone let one of our reception staff know and they will happily do a tannoy announcement asking them to come and meet you.

I am going to call it:

Or for short: LIMP.

This hasn't happened to me, but imagine someone was looking at NSFW websites on their personal computer while their email was open (logged into chrome) and then goes to work and checks their email and they stay logged into chrome. When they open a new tab, the list of commonly-visited sites would appear (including NSFW ones). On their work computer, possibly in front of other people. With no warning.
it is not like you never borrowed your coworker iPad, and when you open the browser he/she forgot it on a xvideos. btw I stopped borrowing iPads at work. after the 2nd time different coworks.
just glad I checked it before the meeting

May be not the best idea to mess with the raw sqlite database on the file level.
Even though the way you do it is likely the way I would have done it I suggest that you diverge a little:
Move the checks and operations to the database logic
use a SQL DROP
statement on all the tables instead of unlink the database file
Don't check if the database exists by checking if the file exists instead
change your CREATE TABLE
statement to use IF NOT EXISTS
.
combining TABLE DROP
and create table if not exists
will provide the same logic. and eliminate the need for the lower level file checks. it will require a little bit extra work to write and maintain drop statement for each table the requires it on cleanup.
it is all good with node until your process reach 1.7gb on 64bit
Vestigialution theory
Imagine all the things we could have done, if we still had our tail.
Yes I watched it.
They say you can't bullshit a bull.
The ideals driving this propaganda videos are not the kind of ideals I support.
They are mocking you by telling you that this is good for you because it will save you $$$.
No one in history played that card.
People care about "personal gain" more then they care about the greater good.
Flying David Hasselhoff did not convince me.
The government and insurance company are on this together. they are there to steal your money. speed tickets are nothing but hidden taxes. ( and the moon is made out of cheese )
a statistical research from 2008 that tell you that allowing higher speed limit reduce the rate of accidents.
fascinating, I wonder how much more fatal the accidents with higher speed limits were, This information is not important to disclose, or doesn't exists. they also don''t explain the rate change, which could be related to the weather that day for all we care.
If all that didn't convince me showing me a pile of bullshit finally did. I see how little they think about the audience they are targeting.
The video didn't even the slightest try to let you think for yourself, or even give you the illusion you do.
life is colorful and if someone shows you a picture with a single color you better realize that your are watching a distorted reality. (or perhaps you are color blind)
Saving life is more important then saving money.
Ask yourself why videos like this get 200k view while psy videos break the youtube 32bit limit?
or why people get upset about getting a speed ticket.

created computer program with other programs
what other software is it introperable with?
and why would it need more liceneses to achive that?
In a case where the copyright owner sustains the burden of proving, and the court finds, that infringement was committed willfully, the court in its discretion may increase the award of statutory damages to a sum of not more than $150,000.
20 licenses = 20 different willful infringements x $150,000 = $3,000,000
$222,000 for sharing 24 songs, I am not sure how you can be so optimistic that the law is in your favor
I thought "Vegetarian" is actually Greek for "hypocrite" or is it the other way around.
When was the last time someone planted a fish successfully?
if you think that the babel fish got himself into the head of all vegetarians. And is purposely translating that a "fish is a vegetable and not an animal", part of its master plan to take revenge on its fellows the less fictitious specie that swore not to ever speak again. which forced the babel fish which was a known talker to move to live in a new eco system, a person ear and feed on brain wave rather on delicious shrimps and other small fish for the rest of its life.
Then yes you can include that in the question.
0:14 slightly annoyed by a passing red truck
0:17 swearing in Russian at the truck driver
0:18 dusting off his sleeve,
0:20 checking that his soul is still in his body
0:24 soul verified ... life continue as usual... walks away.
But⦠doing evil things to the logs on a service that knows your IP address and also quite possibly your user account too, with all that info right there beside where you're being nefarious? You're in the right thread!
(No. All the service know is the IP of a random public wifi, a proxy, a random computer that his owner thought he inherited $300k from a distant relative in Nigeria, and clicked on the attachment, a TOR)
There is nothing criminal with changing your user agent, and I doubt that any TOS will prohibit modification or limit length of that header in the first place.
If the TOS does not prohibit abnormal usage of automated tools,or enforce rate limit, etc in the terms of service.
1000,10,000,100,000,β requests will be legal.
Though if you are making the request with the intention to cause a denial of service then is most likely be consider illegal. with emphasis on the intention.
Let say you are scrapping a big news site. and the site does not limit in any way scrapping or crawling.
You got a tool you downloaded of the internet, that happen to have a very long user-agent. you may generate gigs of log data. your tool may as well exhaust the site storage, is it illegal? or legitimate use?
I'm not sure whether you meant doing this once or doing this on every request (which is evil-er).
on the good side
even if you change your user-agent to a fixed long string of 8 Kilobyte, once the server log get compressed, the compression ratio will be really high. so eventually the impact may not be as bad.
unless of course you randomize the the user agent string on each request.
if you carefully set up your server log with rotation and predefined limits, you can protect your server from logs consuming the entire disk space. There are still issues associated but it is the least you can do to protect a limited resource server.
The best next thing you can do is to block such requests completely.
Just to be clear I am not encouraging this practice and against abusing it in any way.
my intention are of the contrary, I want you to be prepared and protected.
Also, you might want to page @Monarch as well, he's very proficient with Ember hackery.
I happened to write that code too ;) I wasn't able to produce an error by deleting a post in the 1000, tested on safari/mac
