Twitter integration seems broken

In my faffing around with iframely I discovered that Twitter sends links to javascript, which iframely sanitizes. This is why we get the current twitter breakage. The thing in December might be related. At least, I suspect twitter was doing something different.
We've been using the same iframely since late 2018 (recent attempts to upgrade have been temporarily stymied due to docker / user issues).
