@PJH That's quite appropriate nowadays. Your bank does not get any interests when they save the money at the Fed, they'll rather have to pay heavy fees for that. So what to do with the money? Provide mortgages to more speculative business which can be expected to go bankrupt soon? Better you keep your money with you, than with them. For both of you, likely.
