FUCKING HELL WHY DOES IT override the ctrl + f shortcut WHEN I PUSH CTRL+F ONCE
-
Title says it all really.
-
Unless you're browsing from Excel (and if you do, plz send teh codez), what does Ctrl+F3 even do?
-
Fixed. Ctrl + f ... yes I have been using Excel quite a lot today.
-
welcome to discourse, home of "Shit No One Else Understandstm"
-
I normally browser on my phone thus I just browse and make the odd abrasive comment. I have a perfectly good CTRL + F functionality in my browser. I am sure there is a way of turning this off via a user script.
-
Treat discourse like a zombie and double tap. (CTRL+F)
-
I have a perfectly good CTRL + F functionality in my browser.
Except that doesn't work as expected on Discourse either if the topic is long enough for it to unload some of the earlier posts.
It likes to take perfectly working browser controls and break them.
-
Yeah I realise the infinite scrolling madness kinda makes regular find difficult ... but ... I can scroll to where abouts I think it is an do an CTRL F3 to find the post ... which is good enough most of the time.
-
If you're on windows, you don't need ctrl+f3, you can do just f3.
-
I've been hammering CTRL + SHIFT + F3 all day in VS ...

Title says it all really.
How many times do we have to see this exact same topic?
Oh right, you can't search to tell it already existed, and presumably the similar topics feature doesn't warn you either.
-
Actually the "similar topics" thing appears to not even check anymore?
The half a dollar question is, did it disabled, regressed, or bugged?
-

I actually assumed I didn't see it anymore because my Trustlevel was now high enough to warrant less toasters.
But seeing as it never really gave "similar topics" anyway, I wouldn't feel sad if they took it out completely!Filed Under: That was the least useful toaster, afair!
-
I just edited the title assuming it wouldn't bring up 5 new topics. In my defence I have been staring at the most ugly CSS and HTML I have seen in my whole life ...
-
oh im not complaining, i'm making fun of dicsourse for it not having warned you about your topic being similar to about 5 other screw you for overriding ctrl+f topics.
-
Other than returning seemingly random topics, I'm not aware of any issues it could have regressed back to to not work at all. So option 'A' or 'C' pls.
-
Why? Discosearch could have told him!
-
But those are EXACT, not similar!
-
Oh. Shit.
-
what about it? always been there if you click show more and searched something with enough results.
-
Please keep using google for your searching needs!
www.google.com/?q=Ctrl%2BFIt yields even more results!

I was just noticing the large number of topics that pop up related to ctrl+f.
Seems to be a running theme.

Oh. Shit.
That's actually sort of convenient. I can use my browser's built-in search to find stuff in the discosearch...

Classic DC. +1 for the comment.

TDWTF'd the title for you.
-
No, you @blakeyrat'd the title
-

Actually, the search is pretty decent at this point. The main drawback is that it's stuck in the dropdown instead of its own page. But it does find stuff.

It works pretty well for me on meta.d, at least. I don't make many topics, and I don't generally pay attention to the similar topic thing here, but on meta.d, it actually found a topic that was pretty much exactly what I was going to write, so I posted there instead.

see other topic - it is for some reason completely broken/off here.
