Sorting through mega-WTF code to find clues that I use to make complete guesses to fix problems for users.
I get paid a lot of money for this.

akes you feel any better, it's only 1200 here.
Current status: too lazy to fix quotes where the dialog opens, I start typing, then the quote is placed in the dialog.

yes, but you didn't have to be to work until my 1200 (or 1000 if you get in as early as i do)

I do this as well. Unfortunately, the average work day around here seems to shifting to match my schedule

I'm a night owl. And I completely screwed up the maths in my previous comment.

Status: put in to actually use (most) of the two weeks of off time I found out I had a couple days ago (as it expires at end of year and unused isn't paid out).

On your coast that would have been 0900-1800 which seems reasonable to me, unless you start later and work later than that.

This is one of my least favorite things about my current job. Makes B****ming it hard to take a skiing vacation in January. I should probably figure out what I'm going to do with my remaining vacation soon.
Status: Full of Lidocaine and not able to feel much between my chin and collarbones.

Technically at my place if you specify that it is happening in January before it expires then they let you spend it past the deadline, but any that isn't already flagged as "spent on these days" that they expire (though they could just expire it if they wanted).

Those are the times after my edit.

Meeting scheduled during my lunch.
Too many people to change the time of lunch.
Eating lunch in said meeting.

Why? You have one of those places that accrue throughout the year instead of giving it all to you as a lump on 1/1?

Bingo. Earned throughout the year, expires at the end of the year. Technically we are allowed to go negative, but we have to pay it back if we leave before those hours are earned. I'm not comfortable or happy enough with $employer to be willing to carry a negative balance.

it seems 100 nested small tags is sufficient. there's an upper limit, and at 16 the following line of text disappears for me:
Relevant (I think):
/** Stop nested kbd's hanging FF https://meta.discourse.org/t/dos-deeply-nested-kbds-hangs-firefox/17991/4 */ kbd * * { display: inline-block; } div.cooked * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * { display:none; } #reply-control .wmd-controls #wmd-preview * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * { display:none; }
There are a couple of posts hanging around One Post where I was playing with the number of *'s.

I got told to stop having yearly sabbaticals in December to use up my holiday days... (one year it started in the last week of November and lasted until Jan. Guess what I ended up doing the second week of it.)

I normally don't have that much built up because of yearly things in August (GenCon) and I take a day or two off periodically throughout the year, just snuck up on me this year.

I have a reason I choose not to this day. Sadness is a thing even in my twisted corner of happy-go-lucky-almost-fucked-up.

And we accept that because you committed to give it a go on another day.

I'm certain he had no objection to posting them immediately on here if the author was so inclined. CBA'd finding it though. It was on that topic.

No, but I'd rather wait for some kind of feedback first, I think.

Status: Had dinner. Dinner decided to fight back. It lost. The battle was glorious.
-
I think my week is done.
Too much code like this:
Dim iRecordID As Integer = CInt(dr.Item("RecordTypeID"))
TDEMSYR
It works, but there was little effort put into having the actual correct name there. Because it's not the RecordID, nor can you pretend that it is. That value is something completely different.
-
The battle was glorious.
Did any portion of it involve you grappling your throat to keep dinner down?
-
Alas, no. While the battle was glorious and highly spirited by the time we got to that stage my dinner was well and truly subdued.

Because posting replies doesn't trigger new views.
