What's the confusion? Looks correct to me...
-
Good articles. The major misconception in the second one is that stacks needs to be contiguous; that's not actually true and lets you avoid having to bear the whole cost of allocating a megabyte per fiber “just in case”. The stitching required is pretty evil, but you don't write it by hand as a normal programming language user.
Language implementors do some disgusting things under the covers. ()

That part I actually got What got me was that yield did that at all. "yield allows this function to operate like an object implementing these interfaces? Wait, no, yield turns this function into an object implementing these interfaces via a state machine? With the particular set of interfaces implemented dependent on the function's return type? What magic is this??" (slightly exaggerated)
You know maybe if you actually TYPED WORDS AND COMMUNICATED IN SOME WAY we'd know that's what you were asking.
Yes, "yield" is crazy. It's part of what I call "The IEnumerable Magic". I can't even imagine the huge amount of code needed to implement (and do static analysis!) such a thing in the compiler.

Luckily @dkf can, so we're ok for now.

Client: We need to be able to filter by <condition 1> !
Me: Ooook... I guess I can try and get something sensible from the dumps you gave us... Can you test the rest of the system and provide feedback on that part?
Client: No, it is useless without that filter!
Me: ... the one that's useful in one specific case and will actually give you a less useful set of data than <condition 2> in any other?
Client: YES!
Me: So you can't test anything without it?
Client: No!
Me: ... OK...
-
No, I don't need that when I open my email at work, thanks @DoctorJones..
I miss the useful emails CS would give.

Client: We want you to change the color of the sixth column on this one page !
Me: Ooook... I'll add that color in the next round of changes. Can you test the rest of the system and provide feedback on that part?
Client: No, it is useless without that color!
Me: ... the one that's JUST A FUCKING COLOR YOU CUNTSHITTING MOARANS?
Client: YES!
Me: So you can't test anything without it?
Client: No!
Me: ... OK...My week last week.

Right; "I can't even imagine" is not just a figure of speech, it's me admitting I'm a complete and utter idiot. You interpreted that correctly. Good job.

I still have no idea how it got into my closet.
Seriously, it has a mind of its own! (at least that's what I tell Mrs Doctor Jones).

No, that was Java 5.

It's all the little things that add up. Right now, CRM 2015. Trying to set the customer on a case:
Name: {type in Yuffle Whatevers}... oh, wait, the dropdown is set to Person and not Account. I'll change that to Account
Name: {CHANGING THE ENTITY TYPE BLANKS OUT THE NAME FIELD} MOTHERFUCKER... {retypes Yuffle Whatevers}. Nothing happens. Right, this is one of the random boxes that DOESN'T have autocomplete. {hit enter}

No,
Java 8 introduced Lambda Expressions (Thank god I don't (usually) have to make
new FunAnonymousClickHandler() { public void onClick(ClickEvent e) { /*blah */ } };
anymore.)

Me: You know, we can make this easier. Instead of entering stuff one by one into these individual text fields, maybe I can add a single large textbox and then you can just paste all the data at once? Or some kind of an import system, so you don't need to do this manually at all?
Data entry guy who is paid by the hour: No thanks, I'm good.

Ferguson, MO to the center of Texas is 12 hours according to Google Maps.
I'm not geographically in the center of Texas, and 12 hours is more than 10.

You should send them a picture of those misc items and ask for an appraisal.

This video ad Airbus made for adding winglets ("sharklets") to their A-320s is... something.
It's titled "Redefining Performance with Style". Somehow. And at one point it just puts up a huge caption that reads: "Advantage".
Note that those are the same winglets that 737s have had basically forever. (Well, ok. But over a decade.)

Bullshit.
It might be more accurate to say:
stunned by the idea that any major company could still be vulnerable to SQL injection of their payment processing systems
I mean, there's no way a big company with hundreds of websites is going to be 100% SQL injection free, but you'd expect them to pay close attention to the systems directly responsible for collecting money.
BTW did you see the press release they put out saying they didn't bother to encrypt payment details because it wasn't legally required!?
What slime-balls. (Also I'm pretty sure it is required by PCI rules, so,for responsible companies it doesn't need to be legally required.)

each

I'm not geographically in the center of Texas
So, it would stand to reason that it is less than 10 hours to the edge of Texas from Ferguson, MO. For instance, if you are in the DFW area, it is a 9:30 drive.
and 12 hours is more than 10.
A 9:30 is less than 10.
