Bug: Spoiler Alert!ā¢ plugin prevents lightbox expansion
Have you tried rebooting your computer?
-
-
-
that was a joke...but if you meant it then no...Everything works fine for me I see the plugin doing what it is supposed to.... The only thing that is broken is my discourse install on hijnks.com which I seem to utterly destroy just when I get the damn thing to function.
Filed under: Rebooting doesn't help when the operator goes rogue and tries to "enhance" the user experience.

SELECT f., c.
I can already tell this is going to be a fun one, especially if these tables share a common column and there's an object or DataReader/DataSet consuming the result set.
RIGHT JOIN
Stop the presses, someone finally found a use case for this "feature!"
FROM topics c
Because topiCs is so clear. Just like queFstions.
ON (c.id = f.category)
Man, it sure is a good thing that we named the identity column "ID" on all our tables. That way, we can build hundreds of assumptions into our system and make it nearly impossible to refactor the schema. If anyone wants to figure out which tables relate to one another, they can just query the system catalogs for foreign key constraints. Oh wait, foreign key constraints? Yeah, I dropped those in 2011 because they were erroring when I was doing some bulk imports.
WHERE 1 = 1
Standard boilerplate for dynamic concatenation of an unknown number of AND conditions... except there's just one to concatenate.
AND f.id not in (select questionid from answers)
SET ANSI_NULLS OFF
.

You can read teh codez too?

OK, what is up with people fucking blurring crap? It's piss irritating and messes with my vision. Did I mention how god damn fucking piss irritating it is? What amazes me is that it doesn't fuck with anyone else's vision? Is it because everyone else already has sufficiently fucked up vision that their eyes long since gave up trying to focus on those images?
I don't know if I'm channelling @blakeyrat yet or not but it's hard to tell with all that blurred bullshit going on.
-
Unfortunately. It brought back some repressed memories that I'd rather stayed repressed.

I think it was an all around irritating day where discourse is concerned.... 5 install attempts for discourse today and yesterday.
5...
The actual installs worked except one. But I ran a reload from a backup I made in early may when I had a functioning site... that fucked it up. Then I tried to install with plugins. That failed. Then I installed and tried to add my custom stock ticker....that bombed my instance as well.
And i cannot access stuff very well to manually fix a single change I added through the site.
Everything is asynchronous so when one field in one section of the administration area gets botched everything locks up. Every single god damn thing.
I fucking feel like an end user of some product that was built by space aliens for space aliens. I cannot take care of myself and that frustrates me.
Not only that because its touch and go with discourse...I have to run
rm /var/docker*
and start over.If only I knew how to get inside the docker bubble and run some SQL statements...i could undo crap that completely locks up the site.
Sorry...i digressed here. 10 minutes ago I slammed my laptop screen down...fed up. Startled the wife too...what a night. Talk about wasting time compounded with failure and frustration.
-
I completely sympathise with your situation. Interesting that Discourse is that awkward to manage under the hood.
-
If only I knew how to get inside the docker bubble and run some SQL statements...i could undo crap that completely locks up the site.
$ cd /var/docker $ ./launcher ssh app # rails c 2014-06-26T03:45:08Z 32279 TID-owbnc0k94 INFO: Sidekiq client with redis options {:url=>"redis://localhost:6379/0", :namespace=>"sidekiq"} [1] pry(main)> result = ActiveRecord::Base.exec_sql("select count(*) from users") => #<PG::Result:0x007fc3e9754a68 @connection=#<PG::Connection:0x007fc3e69a4bb8>> [2] pry(main)> result.each { |x| puts x } {"count"=>"38"} [3] pry(main)> User.count => 38 [11] pry(main)> SiteSetting.title => "Riking's Forum"
pry also comes with tabcompletion of Ruby methods. pretty cool
-
> ./launcher ssh app > sudo -u postgres psql discourse psql (9.3.4) discourse=# select count(*) from users; count ------- 835 (1 row)
-
Riking...ok shit. I remember now I have to ssh into the docker bubble. I forgot that. Ssh to my droplet then ssh to docker. Where can I read more on what I need once I am inside...?
-
Specifically with administration settings...i am sure they are spread amongst a few tables...for example what would I need to run to wipe out something I added to the head content section?
-
I don't know what pry is...I'll look it up.
Another question. On plugins. Do I need to add any rake stamens to the yml file for ANY of the plugins? Or any additional actions besides the lines for -git pull (whatever)...
For example I wanted to add tagger, spoiler and polls. I was also not sure about polls. Is that native or still a plugins I have to add?
-
Pretty sure that's the SiteContent table.
Also, if you ever mess up your CSS really bad, put
?preview-style=default
on your URL.
If you have a syntax error, it'll show up in the footer with the stylesheet enabled.
-
What?! What does that little gem do? (Edit nevermind just read your edit)What other url parameters do you guys have for maintenence and debug purposes? Link me a list of things available...
Does tacking on /logout in the administration section force a logout. I saw Sam writing about /logout somewhere.
-
There's a button to log someone out of all browsers that are currently open:

Link me a list of things available...
lol why would that exist? other than the fact that it's very reasonable
-
I had this problem on the last time I got stuck...i couldn't log out and I was logged in on 2 computers plus my phone. So that's handy...ok. i may have more questions but this is a good start.
-
There are 1000 things I don't know about discourse. I cannot discover things easily. Trust me I search meta.discourse to the point of exhaustion. Part of the problem is that I don't know what to look for or what to ask for when I need help.
-
This seems common for regular users too. Almost as if it's by design
-
Ok that image had a logout button, that made me feel more stupid than I already feel. You realize the button doesn't work when your site gets locked up. No buttons work.
-
They understand there tools very well. That must be a nice feeling. I'll get there after I break 100 instances.
But for the record vanilla installs work very well. It only becomes a problem when I touch things.
-
Sam this looks like my speed here. I will do this when I get stuck. I will hit the github site to discern my target tables for the administration section.
Very simple/ helpful.thanks...

I voted Other because I wanted to vote for the cat picture.
