The keyboard is behaving itself for now, but it could happen. I did completely demolish a laptop a couple of months ago for similar sins.

i confess i was looking for a mouse in similar shape, but alas i was unable to find.
my googlefu did turn this up though:
-
Hmmmmm, that could almost be my new avatar.
-
So which of them invented the space elevator?
Different story.
Although that's a nice idea, a futuristic sci-fi story in a universe where dragons &c exist. Thanks!

YW. Let me know when you've got your advance and I'll tell you where to send my royalty cheques

Status: The error message one of our applications is giving me apparently doesn't exist anywhere in the application's source, making it difficult to find the bit of code that's failing.
-
That pretty much means that you are trying to debug with the wrong set of source code. Good luck with that.

You'd think. Then people find something like this:
-
Or that the error message is built up piecemeal, stored in the database or some other annoying way of doing it. I have seen both of these in live code BTW

True...I had not even thought of those atrocities.
-
Maybe Discourse automatically DoS-attacks any bot it detects as a protection.
-
The executable was built (by me) from the set of source I'm attempting to debug, so nope.
This particular application is not very well-built. Literally 80% of the code base is legacy code that is not used by anything anywhere, but we can't remove it because the original devs are clingy and get mad when other teams try to fix their crap.

Well then...in that case...I would suggest going and picking up a pint of Ben and Jerry's before you go down this rabbit hole. You can drown your sorrows in ice cream.

d by… months actually; I raised that ages ago, and was told it's deliberate ;)

Won't work. Dragons will just fly into the space elevator and break it.
-
IIRC it wasn't initially but was left like that deliberately.
-
-
If there was a dragon with an impulse engine...
-
Plenty of space for a hat there.
-
-
No visible thrusters, and those wings ain't lifting it up. I'm calling it!

Status: Enabling the application's built-in logger is apparently not as easy as removing the comment from the line
// #define ENABLE_LOGGING

Maybe two pints then?

What kind of language uses
\\

That fight was obnoxious, but only because of where you have to stand.
-
Is that Stalin or Borat that you are listening to?

October. (Non TL3 version in November)
-
So I was d as well? Huh, TIL
-
Really? IIRC you just stay on the top one, fall down to middle one when you need to avoid stuff and go back to top immediately after.
Or something like that. Been a while. But I remember it being quite tame. The cyclops in the first one is way more annoying.
-
It's the new @accalia C++ standard.
-
The cyclops in the first one is way more annoying.
That one is easy once you know its pattern well enough.
As long as you don't get hit more than once each time it turns into jelly blobs, you'll be fine!MM2 has easily the most aggravating boss ever, though:
The Crash Bomb room.
-
That's the point. The boss isn't hard at all, but one mistake or knockback, and you die.
I can't get anywhere in the first one though, so I'll just believe you there.
-
That one is easy once you know its pattern well enough.
Which is the pain bit, due to how checkpoints are arranged, IIRC.
The Crash Bomb room.

Won't work. Dragons will just fly into the space elevator and break it.
Avoiding dragon population centres and migration routes would be an interesting extra constraint on elevator locations.
-
That doesn't factor for the dragons might break it just to be dicks.
-
-
I had not even thought of those atrocities.
Ugh. I've seen it enough times that it was the first thing I thought of.
-

Eh, you just have dragon patrols, armed with bells as the deterrent of first resort and also some appropriate sort of gun in case that doesn't work.
Why bells? Well, did you ever hear about what they've done with maneating crocodiles?
-

So the environmentalists are still winning in your future-world...??
-
That doesn't factor for the dragons might break it just to be dicks.
Flying into a cable that strong would be more likely to break the dragon than the cable. So, they'd steer clear of it.
-
No guarantee of that - we're talking about a fantasy world where dragons and space elevators exist, who says physics works the same?
-
Eh, you just have dragon patrols, armed with bells as the deterrent of first resort and also some appropriate sort of gun in case that doesn't work.
That'd probably deal with it.

Windows? Split it out into a DLL, and make it demand-load so that to even load it into memory you need LoadLibrary and GetProcAddress.

What kind of language uses \ as a comment?
If you're going to do that you should wait to post long enough he can't ninja the correction.
But you shouldn't do that to me.

This post is deleted!

The hedgehog can't see your posts, but you can still see the hedgehog's. So, you can tell him/her/hedgehog to STFU, but the referenced party will not be reading it.
As long as "the hedgehog" stops posting bullshit in my threads, I don't really care about implementation details.
