How could it be a when I quoted you and @FrostCat? I posted that to clarify @FrostCat's "IIRC."

or, occasionally mansion block (in British English)
So they're to blame for the fact that Japan uses manshon as often as apaato. I think they mean different things there, but as usual, it's because of the British.

I did some additional quick googling and it seems like everyone has their own definition in the US of what "flat" means but I did some looking at the issue last year and like I said, it seemed like people were differentiating between flat-style apartments and non-flat-style apartments, where, as I said, one tended to have a hall and the other didn't, but I don't remember which is which.

Status: Brake line ruptured on the way home from work. I made it to the Chevy dealership 1/2 mile away from home to drop it off, and they gave me a 2015 Silverado as a loaner. This thing has more Blinkenlights and computer screens than a Star Trek set!

And more seat belts!

Marginally, yes. My Silverado is a 5-seater, this one's a 6-seater.

Status: My lunch container seemed to have a bit of dish soap mixed into my food. I'm not picky so I ate it anyway, but now my breath smells like dish soap. I hope I don't start belching up soap suds.
It has been 7 hours since lunch and I'm still belching dishsoap flavors...

I think this is getting into TMI territory.

Good day.

That would be a maisonette here

Forgot about those ... I used to work with these big plug-in isa or PCI carts that had a 468 on it

I live in a Tyneside flat, and it's definitely not called a maisonette.
Of course, that's in a terrace composed entirely of upstairs-downstairs pairs, each flat having its own front door and number (as opposed to 34a and 34b), so arguably it's one big block of many flats. But front and back yards are one per pair, so I'd say each 'house' in the terrace has two flats.
Edit: well I sould read what I link more carefully:
After World War II, the maisonette developed as a similar form of housing, as flats above each other but with no shared entrance. Many legal definitions of these later maisonettes also encompass the Tyneside flat.
But no-one ever calls them that.

Must be a regional thing. I've never heard of tyneside flat. Of course, I've never been to Tyneside, so that might explain it
-
I've never seen the twin front doors before. The maisonettes I'm familiar with are semi-detached and have a regular front door on the front for the downstairs, and brick staircase on the side leading up to the front door of the upstairs. These 2 dwellings each have their own house number.

Status: Just had the minutes from this morning's management meeting (which I don't attend).
This week $NAME came from America. $NAME has fixed bugs in the Software whilst he has been here.
Who? What software? What bugs?
Also, you all need to know:
we will be looking for a 5 minute window at 1pm on Friday 5th June to take the Internet down.
So consider yourselves warned. I think we need to give the new minute taker a bit more training.

I need a mixin semantic in my node.js code. I don't have it. All I can do in my object model is pure inheritance.
I can invent it, but at this late stage, it's too much effort for too little gain.

Around here, a flat is a single-level domicile, typically 5-10 per level along a gallery with a large central staircase, often including an elevator.
An apartment is also single-level, but usually in smaller groupings with only 2-4 per level, directly adjacent to the staircase.
A maisonette is multiple-level, often occurring at the top level of an apartment building with the second level under the roof.

Personally, I prefer a soft "screeee" on the sending end and a sizzling sound on the receiving end when it comes to laser weapon sound effects, but that's just me. (I suppose it's better for the look on the recipient's face if all they see is a colored dot accompanying them getting cooked alive, for that matter. ;) )

Where's the "bug eye pudding is disgusting" option?

Would that be an X-ray laser (with the red dot just for targeting)? Those things are awesome! (Keep them away from me though…)

Now you have me wondering... What's the correct abbreviation for 1000 of those? Is that a kibitcoin cent or kilobitcoin cent?
