Did you just Hanzo yourself?

Also: Generally the swastika is supposed to be the flipped Hindu symbol that has been tilted by 45° to appear more agressive. At least thats what we Germans are told
@accalia

A swastika is a geometric shape that is useful in some situations.
E.g. flowing water in some games
87654xxx8 xxxx3x x7 x represents solid blocks x x2x x6 Repeat this on every 3rd level vertically xxxx1xxx5 4321_1234 5xxx1xxxx 6x x2x x 7x x3xxxx 8xxx45678
It also has political connotations.
-
Sorry, but the only water in games I accept does not container swastikas as far as I can tell.

There was a brief internal discussion and the lack of a decision was to leave it.
Well that decision was changed and they
removed one of the images, leaving the other one there.

In the future let's keep symbols that can be associated with hate speech out of the forums, OK?
this just doesn't seem ready even for release to any Discocustomer.
Dave had a problem. Then he thought "I know i'll use Regular ExpressionsDiscourse! Now Dave has N2+1 problems (where N is the number of problems Dave knows about)
Discopædia'd that for you:

I made it beautiful:
It looks almost like that "Break the Community Server" thread on the old forums. I like it.
Filed under: it's like nothing's changed over those years

At least the site has an updated logo...

In the future let's keep symbols that can be associated with hate speech out of the forums, OK?
But we're still allowed to use the Discourse logo… right?

Interesting URL.... [Llanfair...] tag was copy-pasted the tag from the first bolded mention here which View Source tells me there's no shenanigans going on there.
Invisible soft-hyphenation characters, so it can text wrap sanely.

Ya know, I'm torn between dragging that over here for full user testing, or not doing so for risk of being subjected to stuff like /t/7964/141 (subverting the notification stuff) again.
I still have this plugin installed (and updated today) on http://pjh.homeip.net/ for the interested.
-
Oh, I should probably tell you two - next update, @boomzilla will be able to view PMs iff they have an active flag.
As soon as a PM is flagged, moderators can view it. As soon as the flag is resolved, moderators can no longer view the PM. The number of PMs that moderators can (abnormally) currently view is always less than the red number in the upper right.
That feature comes to you at the request of two different enterprise customers plus others at various points, one enterprisey of which tries to keep as few staff as possible at the Admin level.
Also, ontopic: I spent some time cleaning up once-used tags on Meta.
People are horrible at tagging.

People are horrible at tagging.
Representative example.
Tags were "email docker api". They're 1 for 3. Category? Got it in one.
https://meta.discourse.org/t/mailtest-working-but-discourse-cant-send-any-kind-of-email/25345
Past results are no guarantee of future performance, butt...
-
User experience: I was only given like four or five options when making a new bug report over there, and I felt like I ought to tag it with something because the field was sitting right there, but nothing seemed appropriate. I ended up not tagging, but I could see someone clicking on tags at random instead.

Yes, I recall following that topic over there. I presume that's the expected behavior, since the popup says stuff about moderators, but I would have been happy to simply not bug me with red bubbles that I can't do anything about. Not that those happen that often around here.
-
Not that those happen that often around here.
pretty much only when we have secret PM clubs and want things wiki'd
at least that's the only time i've done that in PMs.
-
That's my recollection.

If you're talking about this, that's already in here.
-
Because: EMERGENCY UPDATES
-
As soon as the flag is resolved, moderators can no longer view the PM.
Having just tested this...
Unless, of course, the moderator injects themselves into the PM by replying within it, in which case they can view it all they want. </unintended side-effects>
-
-
I got a green bubble, but I guess since you dealt with it already, I couldn't see the PM.
-
Did two tests:
1st: _2 sent a PM to _3, _3 flagged, _M viewed 1st and replied, then cleared flag. _M could still see 1st.
2nd: _2 sent a PM to _3, _3 flagged, _M just viewed 2nd then cleared flag, _M could no longer see 2nd.
-
-
I got a green bubble,
.. even after it had been cleared? I think you need to revisit your topic on meta.d and
s/red/green/g
....
-
-
Well it seems this one's been defeated though..
-
.. even after it had been cleared? I
I never saw the red bubble. I got a PM notification that said something about "testing" but when I clicked I got the "can't see this" error page. And the notification went away. I can't even see the PM generated by the flag.
-
I never saw the red bubble.
So the flag had been dealt with by that point, so...
I got a PM notification that said something about "testing" but when I clicked I got the "can't see this" error page.
the PM notification, since you couldn't see the PM now, should also have cleared/unset/rolledback...
(This is similar to the red one when they hadn't been dealt with, but you couldn't see the PM.)
-
This is similar to the red one when they hadn't been dealt with, but you couldn't see the PM.
Right.
the PM notification, since you couldn't see the PM now, should also have cleared/unset/rolledback...
That seems correct. I know they fixed a more general thing with notifications for topics that got hidden. Maybe it will affect this, too.
-
I'd say at that point, it's obvious to the participants that something's happened, the jig is up, they could move to a new PM if they needed to.

I just realized why the British don't call # a "pound sign".
Hint: £
-
#
IIRC, it's used (or was used) for the unit of weight in America. We use lb for that, which comes from the Latin
-
I just realized why the British don't call # a "pound sign".
Hint: £
And it confuses the crap out of us when people say pound-sign when they mean hash-key.
Just think, though, we could refer to it as L, like it used to be (since it is based on a stylised L) and back in ye olden times, pounds-shillings-pence were L, s and d.
Filed under: now I know why the British are generally crazy by way of having LSD for years
-
We're British; we're crazy by definition

now i'm trying to remember... does the hindu swastika (which was IIRC lifted and warped beyound all recognition of meaning by the Nazis (paging @godwin)) have the arms go around the same way as the nazi flag, or do they go around the other way....
-
hu-uh....
TIL.
I sit corrected then.
