So, exactly the opposite of 5 discohours ago. Kind of what I expected.Nevermind. Misremembered.

i just changed the order i reported the numbers!
-
See my edit that went in before your post. :P
-
didn't show up until my post loaded. :-P
-
Well, I posted it before your post loaded. And since it was a ninja edit, there's no evidence for either side. It seems it was a draw!
-
yes, indeed it seems we will have to declare this a draw good chap.

Righteo.

I have zero confidence.
I saw Discourse do things today that I will never unsee.

did you get screen captures so we can all share the pain?
-
Reload the topic and look at your post. You'll see - or rather - not see the most irritating thing I saw today.
-
looks fine to me...
my long name appeared where it wasn't there when i posted.... but that's not a new bug.
EDIT: oh, hey the jumping up several posts on reload bug is back...... fan-tastic!

zeroconf => zero configuration
zeroconf => zero confidencedo i get a badge for ruining the joke? :-P
-
-
Fucking brain. It just defaulted to:
zeroconf => zero configuration
and refused to budge.
-
I still don't understand. What do the kio and so bits mean?
-
Many people here say "facepalm.jpg" or "wat.cpp" or "thatsthejoke.bat".
So I used the name of an actual library to show my lack of confidence.
-
.so is the usual file extension for
staticshared libraries in Linux (the "DLLs of Linux", if you will)kio is... I don't know, "kernel IO"?
Okay, Google tells me the K is for KDE.
-
Oh, a linux joke.
Carry on
-

i'm glad that meme caught on!

I think you mean “shared”.
-
I did, indeed.
-
i'm the only one who's glad that meme caught on!
It's not even funny, dammit...
Filed under: i vote no confidence for that meme

Go away. Do your cute little banter with accalia in someone else's thread.

So I used the name of an actual library to show my lack of confidence.I think you're supposed to use colons rather than quotes, so
- :facepalm.jpg:
- :wat.cpp:
- :thatsthejoke.bat:

A few points to think about:
- Did you start this topic? Yeah. About 9 months ago.
- Has the topic drifted? Somewhat. All topics do. Deal with it.
- Is it unrealistic to expect everyone to bow to your demands just because you started the topic? Maybe in the first few days. Maybe if the topic is really popular and the other crap going on is interfering with the primary conversation. But in this case, it is absolutely unrealistic for you to make such demands and expect them to be met.
In short: remove the stick from your ass and get over yourself. You aren't as important as you seem to think you are.

In short: remove the stick from your ass
I think he should insert further sticks to attempt to prise out the first one.
-
I don't mind topic drift, I mind stupid banter bullshit about nothing.
And the reason it matters if it's my thread or not is I get notified if it's my thread. I don't want a notification which, when followed, brings me to some bullshit nobody sane could ever possibly care about. It's a waste of my time.

You can fix that pretty easily but I'm sure you'd rather complain.

Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner!
-
well it's been a month. time to reregister my anti-vote of no confidence.... otherwise known as a vote of confidence! :-D
-
Speaking of confidence, after a month I saw "You can fix that pretty easily but I'm sure you'd rather complain" in the previous post, and was confident I knew who @antiquarian was addressing without expanding or following the quote. I was right
-
Not much confidence here.
INVISIBLE FUCKING COOLDOWNS.

I've learned to live with this piece of duckhorse we've been dealt. I think I've come down with a mild case of Discourse Syndrome.
-
I've been dealing with the life changes of having a proper job with a non trivial commute plus moving in with @royal_poet and haven't had the time to really be here and yet I still encounter bugs in the time I do get here...
-
INVISIBLE FUCKING COOLDOWNS
Is that some new gameplay mechanic? You can only have sex with invisible people every so often?
-
I'd like to register a Vote of Incompetence.
