Trainwrecks. Watch them? Prevent them?

No Alanis Morrisette or Avril Lavigne. They are just too easy.
I wouldn't know, I don't know anything by either of them.

You don't know how lucky you are to have not ever been subjected to the song "Ironic", where nothing in there is actually ironic. You could pedantic dickweed the entire song.

Sounds ironic. Perhaps the song was meant to troll?
-
No, it was meant to appeal to the lowest common denominator. Look it up on YouTube.

Meh, I'll pass. Why would I listen to a song by Alanis Morrisette in a world where Iron Maiden and Judas Priest exist?
-
Meatloaf, a little fuzzy on the concept of "anything".
Yes, yes he is. At least you're not asking the question I know I've had to answer too many times in my life, which is 'what is "that" that Meat Loaf wouldn't do?' When it's right there in the song lyrics.
-
Something about motorcycles or bats, right?
-
No.
I'd never lie to you and that's a fact
But I'll never forget the way you feel right now,
But I'll never forgive myself if we don't go all the way, tonight
But I'll never do it better than I do it with you. So long, so long
But I'll never stop dreaming of you ev'ry night of my life, no way
And then the girl he's singing to, to which he says he wouldn't do that:
After a while you'll forget everything It was a brief interlude and a midsummer night's fling And you'll see that it's time to move on
I know the territory, I've been around It'll all turn to dust and we'll all fall down Sooner or later you'll be screwing around
So there you have it. Meat Loaf won't screw around, he won't move on and let go, never be with anyone who he would love more than he loves her, he won't forget how she feels (though she's pushing him off) and he won't lie to her.
Motorcycles and bats is the first Bat Out Of Hell album.
-
I'm pretty sure the music video had motorcycles and at least one bat.
Also Meatloaf had boobs in Fight Club.
-
Yes, the video did but that doesn't mean it makes sense! The literal version is even funnier.
-

So... he will never gonna give her up, never gonna let her down, never gonna run around and desert her?

This is the one and only time I have liked a Rickroll.

Exactly! Only more awesomely said.
-
I want my necklace back. Give it here.
-
Are you going to complain about the necklace all the way to the sunset?
-
If you don't give it back I will.
-
And here was me thinking I was the one who could rock the Meat Loaf look.
Perhaps next time I go to Brighton I need to find a leather jacket. Might even be a reason to keep clean-shaven actually.
-
Or a pretty white dress. XD

Can we start this conversation again because I'm the wrong person in it?

-
Nope.
I'd never look as lovely in a bathtub as your good self.
-
Do I need to check the bathroom for hidden cameras and hidden networks?
-
You didn't do that when you moved in, or after you get back from being out?
-
Maybe the recent renovation was just a cover...
-
I did it when I first moved in here several years ago, moved out into my own place then moved back ... and I didn't recheck after moving in again. Shit.
The recent renovation may well have been a cover, though thankfully that's all done now and sanity prevails in the house once more.

The literal version

I'm definitely in the wrong topic.
Why would I listen to a song by Alanis Morrisette in a world where Iron Maiden and Judas Priest exist?
Why would I listen to any of those in a world where Bach, Mozart and Beethoven (or at least their music) exist?

Not bad, but it's no Safety Dance.

Some of my favorite cross genre covers:

1960s Japanese surf guitar (Takeshi Terauchi and the Bunnys) goes classical.

I really need to find a rimshot video on YouTube for occasions like this.

Hmmmm... I think someone's going to be losing their newly discovered leader powers.

Hmmmm... I think someone's going to be losing their newly discovered leader powers.
I'm fairly certain they're not newly discovered for the editor concerned.
-
And considering you have edit histories public, anyone can find out who the editor was.
-
I can't see the edit history so I was making an buttumption.
-

Oh? I thought edit histories were private in this forum...
Well, fuck me. Is that a user preference?
-
Why not, I can.
But the thing is, in this place, it's simply not an issue because we're sufficiently tightknit that it doesn't actually bother us and makes at least someone laugh.
-
They are, unless you enable this option:
-
Oh? I thought edit histories were private in this forum...
No, there was a change whereby people can select if their own edit history is now public... or something. Not sure how that works when you have different people making edits to the same thing, though.
Heck, that's probably a bug in its own right.
-
I must have been asleep when that happened. I remember it being discussed on meta.d, but didn't think it'd get implemented.

I found it amusing. I just thought it was that guy who was excited about getting his new leader powers today, so I thought I'd make a playful dig at him.
-
It was a couple of weeks ago if I remember rightly, but maybe I don't.
Though it would be interesting to see what would happen if successive people who don't have edit history turned on edited a topic from someone who did... would it only pull the edits that the viewing user could see, or what?
-
That's allowed

It's the post owner that controls, regardless of who uses super powers to edit.
