I though Karl Urban was the least offensive part of that film, honestly. Though Simon Pegg as Scotty was credible, the writing was abysmal.

Agreed. But there is no excuse for that piece of crap, and it's crap both as a Trek movie and SciFi in general.
Therefore, I cannot approve of any part of it. There is no excuse.

I'm not even remotely condoning it, I'm merely saying that in a heap of shite, he's modestly less shite than everyone else.
The Honest Trailer disassembly of the film was hilarious, though. Other than the closing line of 'who cares because Star Trek is cool again'.
-
Well, I'm an accountant who does programming. I'm not a bloody artist.
What are you talking about? I chose those colors myself a while ago. If there's anyone to blame it's me.

I really liked both movies.

Not good/fun enough to turn my brain off I guess. I watched The Amazing Spiderman 2 yesterday, started yelling twice 10 minutes in, but then it got so fun the brain just decided to go "Fuck it!". Pacific Rim had me like two minutes in.
No such effect in Star Dreck - JarJar Abrams edition. Flipping between bored and angry.

To each his own. I haven't seen the new Spiderman franchise yet.
Pacific Rim had me like two minutes in.
I enjoyed Pacific Rim, but it had a lot of teh stoopid for me.

Meh...I don't even have much Jar Jar hatred. Probably just more in tune with my good midi-chlorians.

I enjoyed Pacific Rim, but it had a lot of teh stoopid for me.
It did. But that's what I'm saying: it was fun enough for me to ignore the stupid and just roll with it. No such luck with ST. Hell, one of my favorite movies ever is Flash Gordon. The amount of stupid is staggering. But I can't not have fun watching it.
-

I just can't imagine. I had so much fun, especially with the first movie. Second wasn't as good, but still lots of fun.

And Star Trek 2 didn't?
I bet you also liked Revenge of The Fallen, dontcha.
-
And Star Trek 2 didn't?
I managed to get 5 minutes in, with Enterprise under water and Speck jumping into the volcano, then I left to minimize damage to people and equipment.
-
And Star Trek 2 didn't?
Not more than is typical for Star Trek stuff.
I bet you also liked Revenge of The Fallen, dontcha.
Sure, it was a lot of fun, too.

Ah, I think I see the problem. You had the polarity reversed on your Disbelief Suspension Module.
-
-
Disbelief Suspension Module.
There's a difference between suspension of disbelief and bad filmmaking.
-
Sure, it was a lot of fun, too.
You're a disgusting monster and single-handedly responsible for the downfall of all art.
-
However, I kind of want to see the new transformers movie with the mindset gained from reading the great io9 article about Revenge O'Fallen.
-
I saw Optimus Prime riding a mechanical dinosaur in the trailer. That is all I wanted to see, curiosity satisfied, I'm good.
-

I'll cop to the first, but postmodernism got to art long before my time.
-

That's just it, it's over the top fun and it knows it. It doesn't try to pretend it isn't cheesy.
-
Leaked Deadpool test CGI-ness. Go find it. It's from 2011, but it's epic. They better make it.
-
I enjoyed Pacific Rim, but it had a lot of teh stoopid for me.
By the way,

I can't stand that Honest Trailer junk.

Or maybe, if FA had it:

None of them are from FA though...

If FA is the only choice, I'd say DC has bigger problems. I guarantee installations will want to issue non FA badges for things.

@PJH, do we have a crotchety old man badge?WANT
Some of us are the badge.

Some of us are crochety young men instead. Others of us are minimy men.

I take it you're someone who's keen on a breve encounter then?

Quavering with antici...pation.

Damn, missed that in @Arantor's post, and it took me a longa time after reading yours before I figured out what you were on about. In my defense, that terminology is not much used on this side of the pond.
-
Guys, give it a rest.
-
My favorite piece of music terminology is "portato". It probably fits well with some presto.

Exactly! :) And that's why I didn't change the colors—combo of CBA and "I am not an artist". I'm not color blind, but I am color-coördination challenged...
-

Tonight we're having prasta presto.
Tomorrow probrably just broccorli with braked portatoes.
-
Add some sprinach, that sounds prerfect.
