- One Drive (earlier called Skydrive)
- Box.Net
- Amazon Cloud

I am not giving the FILE_NOT_FOUND option on this one.

I am not giving the FILE_NOT_FOUND option
A shame because I'm rather certain that that one is rather impossible to hack.
-
FILE_NOT_FOUND is what you get when your cloud provider accidentally loses your files.

It would certainly be a terrible name for a storage service.
-
However, it would be very cheap to host such a service!

In which case, I challenge you to start a "FILE_NOT_FOUND Online Backup and Storage Service".
-
We could make it in RoR and use InfiScroll to display all the non-existing files in our storage.

+10
Has happened to us in previous organization when Network Share drive was incidentally wiped out by our esteemed colleague in Network Department.

Done. The best thing about this service is that it's not only free, but no registration or login required. In fact, the user barely has to lift a finger.
-
I don't seem to be able to attempt to upload a file.
-
-
He made that link as a joke.
I feel so foolish now. :(
I'd better get that "didn't get the joke" badge...
-
You have been granted the 'Whoooosh!' bronze badge.

I'm lifting a finger right now. Can you guess which one?
-
This is actually likely an amazing name for such a service, the slogans, mottos, and sales pitches would be amazing.
-
I present to you:
http://filenotfoundstorage.com/
For $1.99 for a year, I'll run with that joke.
Maybe I'll do something with it.
[Pending setup now, it should be up in a bit]
Business concept:
Upload the files you wish to be preserved forever. They will be encrypted and stored safely away on the server. During the upload, your file will be renamed to ensure security. You will not be told this file name, also for security.

This is reminding of an incident where a forum user who hired an actress to prove that he was a girl.
It really happened.

Do you have to go to the bathroom?
-
Ordering a round of beers?
-
Since my preference for team winner has lost, you should be the one doing
the ordering and I will be the one doing the drinking.

Hi Nagesh, I've seen a lot of articles with Dropbox, Inc. getting hacked so that would make it a likely candidate. I think you should also check out Thru's Managed File Transfer Service. They have never had a data breach in its 12 years of existence. I don't think they give people the FILE_NOT_FOUND option
-
Nagesh has not been sighted for the past year, my necromantic friend.
EDIT: Anyone else notice that Nagesh has a serious case of Jellypotato?
-
His profile says he was here April 8th this year
-
I only know about him because I went on a reading backward spree not long before joining the forum, and eventually got through his years of service. I was rather disappointed that he left around the time I joined. Many entertaining conversations would be having.
-
I'm still pretty sure Nagesh was an elaborate bot.
-
That was the beauty of it all. You just couldn't tell. He sounded fake, but not fake enough.
-
I think Nagesh was human and generally who he claimed to be.
He also had a much sharper sense of humor than most of the morons around here.
-
Claiming he was not being a bot is an offense against his good name.
-
Try mSpy. yes i know
-
-
Except for the front page comments where Nagesh(unregistered) had lots of different people behind it ...
