@PJH is on mission to create FAQ for rest of us.
Bug: User Name in title of post is not linked.
-
Fairly sure it's not a bug seeing how by definition you could not click on it the way you can with normal mentions.
-
Exactly!
Yo dog, my link cannot have a link in the link for linking other links while I link what I linked.
-
While I would concur in thanking @PJH for his work on the FAQ, everything else about this post really, really needs a button.

Hey,
What you mean by again?
-
So that's what the screaming I heard was about. Great, that's all I need, them doing well, prolonging this madness for a few more weeks.

Yup, that was totally the plan.

That's 4chan's CDN? Huh... interesting development, I pasted that link from a chat. I guess I got some new info on the person that linked it.
You know, I should really try reading 4chan just to see what the big deal is. Then again, I do value my sanity somewhat...

Bug: Discourse allows embedding video files (yay) but does not rehost them like it does with images.
-
If you remember to:
- Not go to /b/ (occasional gore, advanced trolling, they're the board responsible for all the stuff like raiding other sites or harassing people)
- Not go to /pol/ (nazis and other white supremacists, basically)
- Not get upset when people say or do stupid shit.
- ... Just don't even think about getting into any arguments. It won't work.
- Not expect any serious thoughts or insights about anything
- Not post any "memes" you know, or they will mock you and tell you to go back to reddit or something.
- Lurk moar before you post (and read the goddamn rules)
you should be fine.
You can use the occasion to check out the long threads and embedded WebMs.

Different boards on 4chan have very different cultures. Sometimes even different threads can vary that way a lot (e.g., most of /g/ is entirely moronic, but the programming threads are sometimes entertaining).

No idea what the source of this is other than the imgur post I got this from.

It's probably the set of people who think the World Cup is related to the World Series, and didn't want to pick Canada.
-
Not a soccer fan, btw.
-
Well, at least they seem to consistently get there at least. That counts for something already.
Also, bringing the thread on the topic for a sentence or two, I do appreciate @PJH's hard work. And I have to give a shout out to @sam as well, he seems to genuinely care so to that.

soccer
Also, this is bound to happen sooner or later, so let's get it out of the way now:

/x/ can be entertaining if you're into that sort of thing. I also drop in on /wg/ once in a while. It's been at least two or three years since I've spent more than 30 seconds on /b/.
-
4chan is mostly okay except for a few channels, like this one:
@anonymous234 said:Not go to /b/ (occasional gore, advanced trolling, they're the board responsible for all the stuff like raiding other sites or harassing people)
And a few of the /b/tards also insist on posting occasional child porn images as topic starters, meaning that if you read topics there long enough, you will end up with illegal content on your PC. If you do feel intrigued enough to venture there, be prepared to clear your browser cache out entirely.
-
Speaking of 4chan, mods on /b/ sometimes embed autoplaying music on posts or fuck with the CSS just to annoy people.
So yep, Discourse still copying them.
