Continuing the discussion from Somebody has probably asked this before...:
But why is there a 'forgot password' email resend button in your logged in profile page?
What the fuck? I just clicked reply as new topic after middle mouse click opening a new tab (to the same page) and got double 'continuing the discussion'
-
Of note, I did not even see this topic (TOPIC not post) before this happened.
I think I intercepted @PJH's json or somethin.
-
Mummy! He's hurting me!
-
Anyway, what's the bug? Aint too clear...
-
In the topic 'Somebody has probably asked this before...' I middle mouse clicked 'reply as new topic' because I wanted to open a new page to reply as a new topic.
Instead it reloaded 'Somebody has probably asked this before...' so I clicked 'Reply as new topic' there.
It pre-populated your post from 'One Post access changed' - a topic which I hadn't even seen yet, added it to the top of my 'Somebody has probably asked this before...' reply as new topic stuff.
-
Actually, I think I know what happened, I created my reply as new topic post the same time you created your post - You took #2242, and my topic was assigned 2242.NM, that's 2185...

Middle-mouse clicking is Doing It Wrong™, according to Discourse.
No one ever uses the middle mouse button, the context menu, Shift + Click, or Ctrl + Click, obviously.
-
At least Discourse hasn't adopted the concept of adding/hiding navigational items when you middle click on anything that isn't a link.
-
Yeah, but I want to figure out a repro, because it should theoretically allow me to see any content, private or public if what I think just happened, happened.

I broke something when on meta.d doing that. Screencap in the status thread if you can be bothered...
-
I posted this in another thread, they're completely unaware that the web can be used this way.

Are you referencing the Logs bug that you had to file twice? That was a good one, especially because it showed the Jeff doesn't even fully understand browser functionality. Or is this something else?
-
Something else. Was a screencap of FF still loading a few tabs.
I'll see if I can find it...
-
Ah, you mean this one:
-
It only takes me 4 - 5 middle-clicks in Discourse to bring my browser to its knees. Some of them skip and some of them open the same topic in multiple tabs. What a pain.
-
That's the one. To be fair not all the tabs were shown...
Thing is I do the same on here and the problem isn't as bad...
-
Some of them skip and some of them open the same topic in multiple tabs.
Cant say I've experienced this...
-
Honestly I think it's just Firefox choking on its own vomit and not processing mouse events in a timely manner. But this forum is the only site where I consistently experience such things.
