um yeah. I've got some NullPointerException and ClassCastException too! Then I found many random pages and forms. One to register a user, but when I tried, I got a NullPointerException :-(

So when you're in the business of Software Development, there is a big chance you just have to do Data entry???
I am so naive...
Sadly yes. I have to do it if the client is to lazy to use the "we really need a CMS because we don't want to pay you for making changes"-CMS. Glad I found a new position...

I thought the VB of the net was VB. (Alternatively PHP)

Oops my fault. It should be "the new VB for the web" ^^

RE: How Not to Get Laid.

and why should it be hard to get laid as a programmer? You just need to act like a normal guy and stop beeing a nerd/geek for a moment

RE: Coldfusion: Whats your Opinion?
I've used CF for the past 2 years at work and it's not that bad. I know it has a bad name (some people even claim it's the VB for the web) because there is a lot of bad CF code and easy to learn like VB. But like in any other language you can write good code in CF as well if you follow good practices.
I'd choose [CF/Python+Django/RoR/etc.] any day over java or .net for your standard CRUD website. Why? Because it makes it easy to build solid web applications in a short time. On the other hand for large projects I'd choose java or .net over CF because there is much more knowledge/resource available and chances are greater that there is some open source library you can use.So I think it's "The right tools for the job" and CF has it's place

Right on dhromed - here's to notepad, a surprisingly good html editor for beginners.
How can you guys code in Notepad without getting eye cancer? I only use it for... notes.
There's only one standard editor I use every now and then for coding: gedit. It's not bad for something smalledit:
Oh yes. As other suggested I'd start out with HTML/CSS/Javascript. After that I think Python(+Django) or Ruby(on Rails) would be good starter languages.

It's anonymized, but I swear to god that's in our framework. Yes, every single this-dot is unnecessary. I've found up to eight this-dots on one line.
I'm not suprised to see stuff like this. After all, we have code completion.
Not really funny but lines like if(something == true) {...} makes me giggle every now and then

Who I am, What I did, What I'm going to do in the future, my hobbies. Stuff like this. Nothing near a technical question. And they are going to decide next week wether they take me or not. Anyway. I have another interview for an asp.net job.
