I just started getting this in reply to any mail sent to a specific mailing list of our domain zzzz.com (the mail for which is handled by an external company):

<xxxx.yyyy@zzzz.com> (expanded from <mailinglist@zzzz.com>):
host 10.2.3.30[10.2.3.30] said: 554 Service unavailable;
Client host [10.2.2.20] blocked using list.dsbl.org (in reply to RCPT TO command)

So actually there is one of their internal servers who has banned another of their internal servers using a RBL.

Not sure if TRWTF is not listing the internal network as trusted/whitelisted or list.dsbl.org containing a RFC 1918 address block.

• RE: From the washing machine's instruction manual

So I just used a new washing machine for the first time.

Since the machine itself doesn't say how long the programs take to finish, I browsed through the instruction manual looking for this information.

On this point, I have to say I've been quite pleased when I bought a washing machine from $brand and I found that, instead of the typical "start delay" you can often set today, and which is the solution to the problem as seen from the point of view of the machine, this one has "end delay", that is you choose at which time you'd like the machine to finish. Which is the solution to the same problem (delaying the washing cycle) but seen from the typical point of view of the user, whose use case is often "I want to arrive home and hang the laundry".

Sometimes washing machine engineers study usability.

• Supporting future meanings of "pointer"

I found this function inside of a project for an undergraduate Operating Systems Labs course (the project consists of writing the lower layers of a simple microkernel):

[I translated comment and function name from the original, which is in Italian.]

/* Return the address of s */
int address(int *s){
return(s);
}

I hope this is just a (failed) attempt to get rid of the type conversion warning that could be solved with a simple cast, and not a reworking of something like "int address(int s) { return &s; }".
