Agree. Doesn't it come to a point where you have to consider the costs (time mostly) involved in trying to cater to .001 of your expected visitor base? You can spend hours/days/etc. hacking around to get the page(s) to look and work identical on every single browser ever produced, but all you've really done (other than giving yourself a Standards Gold Star ™) is waste your time and probably the client's money.
Or you can just use the standards and have it work correctly on everything but IE quickly...
