I had to kill my Firefox after Windows started thrashing, I noticed that superman browser used ~ 140 MB of memory.

By the way, didn't Fortran have the blessing of 8-character variable names?

RE: HowTo_AccessRaw SectorsOfPhysical Drives_onLinux.py
Of course, most people think Python code is very readable, although some find it cryptic because of some language constructs like lambda functions and list comprehensions.
Still, this is not bad code, if you change names like "<FONT face="Courier New">fileLikeAccessToContentOfSectorsOfHardDrive0</FONT>" to "<FONT face="Courier New">fd</FONT>" or "<FONT face="Courier New">disk</FONT>" something. And then put a comment above the assignment to fd:
<FONT face="Courier New"># File-like access to content of sectors of hard drive 0</FONT>

That's incredible, in the sense of 'not credible. I'm sure it's real, but.... lstHexDumpOfBootRecord? strHexDumpOfBootRecord? Last I checked, python doesn't *need* type warts, andCapitalizingThingsLikeThisThatAreMoreThanTwoWordsInLengthIsUgly, like Java style but without the purpose...
It's one thing for code to be written in Python, it's another entirely for code to be written like Python.The 'type warts' actually make sense in this particular case, because first he has a list, then he converts it to a string, but both have the same information. I'm a little surprised you actually noticed the 'type warts' in those huge variable names. Apart from that, no language needs type warts, whereas some programmers do.

RE: Meta-WTF
WTF? Allow me to post the rest of my post, which should have gone in the empty space I'm seeing at the end of my post.
Out of curiosity I went to the URL mentioned in the comment. Turns out
FreeTextBox Pro costs $ 49 (free as in beer), FreeTextBox source
code/distribution costs $ 149 (free as in speech).
(I'm secretly hoping I get to see all the HTML when this is posted. Alas, no preview button.)
(The thing ate nearly half of my post. That's nearly as good.) -
Meta-WTF
I figured we need a thread about the WTFness of the TDWTF forums so we
can go like "yawn Use the search function!" everytime somebody
mentions some bone-headed aspect about the >>telligentSystems
masterpiece. So here it is.
Allow me to pull a random WTF from this page I'm typing in.<!-- ************************************************ -->
So the License for this FreeTextBox is actually of type NoLicense, which was
<!-- * FreeTextBox v3 (3.0.5000.25537) * -->
<!-- * http://www.freetextbox.com/ * -->
<!-- * ASP.NET HTML editor for PC/IE & Mozilla * -->
<!-- * License Type: NoLicense (To: Unlicensed) * -->
<!-- ************************************************ -->
(Not)Licensed to Unlicensed? Dude, WTF?

RE: Socom 2 PLayers
I submitted an 80x15 dailywtf button to steal these buttons
[http://www.gtmcknight.com/buttons] but it didn't make it out of the
upload page. Oh well. Luckily I saved the button on my own web site
[http://techfreaks.nl/~joost/buttons/dailywtf.gif].
