If I take two small buckets, fill them with water, and then dump them into a single larger bucket, the volume of water in the large bucket equals the sum of the volumes in the smaller buckets. Buckets can do math!

RE: Samsung PR company tries to bribe StackOverflow users
Wouldn't "revert to me" mean "you were once me, and you need to become me again"? That's kinda creepy.

RE: Yeah, that will prevent cheating!
Is it to prevent cheating, or to prevent people downloading the documents without paying for them?

What else is forbidden?
Nonsense. Theft is a crime. There is no crime in Japan.- Having a local copy of the database (contains product IDs, etc.; no customer info), because the data is proprietary company information and employees might steal it.
Earlier this month, when I showed the PL how easy it was to circumvent their homegrown content protection system using Fiddler, I almost got fired. In fact, just by writing the previous sentence, I have now violated a non-disclosure agreement they forced me to sign.
There is no hacking in Japan either. That's a crime too. Nobody would be so disrespectful as to try to access something they weren't supposed to. Where is your honour?
Are there any sane companies in Japan? Are they hiring? *sigh* -

Did the sender resize it or are they taking photos with an ancient phone? Even my POS old flip phone took higher resolution photos than that.

RE: YouTube: proof that monopolies are awful
Since they crammed G+ into Youtube I can't even type a comment anymore. The textbox (which appears to be not a standard textbox, because those are boring, but some kind of JS thing) displays a cursor but nothing happens when I type in it. Good job there Google.

RE: C code sample for interview
Looks like a good example of real-world code with a few minor (and one severe) real-world bugs. I wouldn't expect first-year students to catch the bugs, but for second or third it should be right up their alley.

RE: Metro photo app
I really like the Windows 8 TV commercials that show someone placing and resizing tiles with their fingers. Not even touch screen gestures, but physically picking them up and moving/stretching them. If only the real thing were anywhere near that easy?
