They left out the most important bit...there should be a hexagon in the middle, with all arrows leading to and from it...containing the text "A miracle occurs"..
Isn't that what the cloud is for?

I think the important phrase is "Microsoft can check online for a solution to the problem the next time you go online.
It can't check now, because you have no internet connection. So check later should really be "Check next time I get an internet connection"
Well, since I'm posting here, my internet connection is just fine...
I just had Windows 7 BSOD on me for the first time. After rebooting, i was greeted by this message:
It's only a minor thing, but still, where's the 'check right now' button? It says it can check solutions for me, but then only offers a cancel or postpone option... I wonder if I will keep getting this until i somehow remove the error log from some location that i didn't bother to write down/remember

. I used to have a program, I think my old virus-checker, that would automatically prevent software from writing to this part of the registry, thus preventing software from starting with Windows unless I asked it to.
I use StartupMonitor (http://www.mlin.net/StartupMonitor.shtml) for that. Ok, it in turn does start with windows, but it's far from a resource drain. The website says it works up to winXP, but on win7 it seems to work just fine as well.

The questions such as "What was your schools Mascot" should nto be answered with teh schools mascot but rather "ZAQ12#$rfv"but no one ever listens when I say, if you lose your password all you need is a public records search for your mothers maiden name to get in, how is that secure?
I totally agree. I don't think i've ever answered such a question with something i would be able to reproduce. At the very least they should let you come up with a question yourself, and not one of those standard questions that anyone can look up. And even then i think i would just enter some random crap.
Why don't you just make your function accept a Date or Calendar object for start and end, and use the ms representation internally? Would have made more sense to me (although your documentation is quite clear on what you should use as parameters). Probably would be less confusing for your coworker, even though he's an idiot for not reading the doc
"What about sporting goods" Exactly, what about them? What the hell are they asking you to do there?
The food thing is annoying too. After you adjust your top percentage and move on to the second one, it automatically adjusts the one you just entered. So it takes about, well... infinity tries to get where you want or something.
Oh, and apparently me owning a bunch of socks has heavily contributed to my total of 30 slav. It somehow figured out i own a blueray player as well (i don't)
Nice! What does the resulting log file look like when this does happen?
I don't really see the WTF. I would hate to hit enter (or something similar), everytime i wanted to watch something on say, channel no 6. Actually, I haven't seen many system other than the one you're describing and it makes perfect sense to me, but maybe that's just because i'm used to it.
For my current (also old an crappy) tv, i once bought a universal remote. I'm not sure whether it is an issue with the tv or with the remote, but currently it uses the current channel to figure out how many digits you're going to enter. So if you're watching channel 23 (or any 2 digit numbered channel), it assumes that you'll want to go to a 2-digit channel next. And if you're watching a 1 digit channel, it assumes you're going to watch another 1 digit channel next. Now that's what i find annoying.
by the way, why would anyone want a system with 4 digit numbers? Are you actually watching 1000+ different channels? I very much doubt that.

Slovenia and Slovkia are swapped around. The Netherlands, Estonia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Montenegro and countless other smaller countries apparently don't exist. Switzer is also an interesting way to abbreviate Switzerland. To be fair (don't ask me why), the map seems to only show countries where they have offices. If you go to the site and click the "America" tab, you'll see 4 cities listed. And I guarantee you that, between the US and Canada, we have less than 4 countries and more than 4 cities.
Not even that. The legend clearly communicates that the map shows the location of the service centers, not the countries that have service centers (which, afterall, wouldn't be dots). The labels apparently tell customers from the indicated country where to go if they need service.
So if you're from Croatia, you need to go to Italy. Why would anyone have a problem with that?

well, for one thing, yugoslavia or slovenia (shown as slovakia on the map, i should've seen that myself), depending on where in croatia you are, is closer. Oh, and they speak roughly the same language. They would understand eachother better.
But yeah, you're right about the thing showing locations of service centers instead of all the country names in europe.
