I know there's got to be humor value in it, but I'm actually afraid to look closely enough to get to it. I could be blinded!

RE: Make Your Own Software!!

Email validation made easy.
Fake email entries are trouble in any online registration system, but here's an approach I saw on one online job application system that had me intrigued./
"If you do not have an email address, please create a fictitious one such as: jane1267@csp.com."
Hmm... -
RE: Too much of a good thing?
I was taught explicitly several times to make a best effort to comment every line.
I tend to agree. Around 3am semi-colons get hard to read. Frankly when
all is said and done there is no such thing as readable code. English
is always good to have. -
RE: What, I need a subject now?
The whole idea of the thread creation button being part of the controls
for another thread always baffled me. If you want it on every page,
move it to some place where it doesn't look like a topic-specific
control. Lots of board software is guilty of this.
As to this package, all the good forum software is php/mysql, which
this admin ain't happy with. vBulletin is PHP, Invision is PHP, phpBB
is, well you get it. Forums are written in php. Whether they should be
is another topic, but they are. -
Why does it email me?
I am getting response notifications for one of the Daily WTF threads,
even though I didn't sign up for them. I don't see any subscription
management controls anywhere on the board. What's happening, and how do
I stop it? -
RE: Paranoia
Oracle is considered to have affects similar to chemical and biological
agents. Long term exposure causes heightened aggression, severe
insomnia, and ultimately anneurism or cardiac arrest. -
RE: THE I-HATE-COLDFUSION CLUB?
Waste of time. EVERYBODY hates coldfusion. I stumble upon a cfm page once every two thousand years.

T-Shirt slogan
You should all have T-Shirts made that say MySQL can beat up your
Oracle. Doesn't seem like there are alot of MySQL users here either,
but the pun demands it.
thinkgeek.com might start carrying it if there is enough support. -
RE: Advise on how to make my page more upscale
Sorry to post twice, but editing is a bit weird here.
Just to clarify, the server is sending an explicit message to the web
browser that it should display the text as-is and not draw it as HTML.
I think Internet Explorer tends to ignore those sorts of things.
Obviously if you can see it your browser does. It could be Angelfire's
fault, or there could be some parameter in a .htaccess file you edited
(I'm not sure how far angelfire lets people go with the editing).
