Tomcat on Windows 2008 R2

  • Does anyone have a good tutorial about how to get Tomcat up and running under Windows 2008 R2 as a JSP web server?

EDIT: Never mind, the geniuses here in our IT department have corrupted our internal DNS servers. Time to go kick some people in the nuts.

  • I suggest you go to your IT department and tell them to fix the DNS server.

Isn't that what kicking them in the nuts was communicating?

Can you re-post the actual link? I don't follow shortened URLs.

It's  dangerous to go alone. Take this.

The unshortened URL is, TA TARA TAAA:

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=Install Tomcat on Windows 2008 server

    awesome!

Awesome, I didn't know people had bothered to implement unshorteners. Kudos on the Legend of Zelda reference, also.

Nagesh, I'm assuming that you didn't bother to check those search results (ignoring the fact that google search results are user and location specific) but I asked for a good tutorial. Ignoring the fact that none of them would have helped with the bjorked DNS issue, I was hoping for something a little more comprehensive as I wanted to hand off a decently configured server to the IT department that was reasonably secure without having to bother to read all of the man pages since I don't want to be the one forced to maintain the server in the future (I know, I'm TRWTF). I went through several pages of google and duckduckgo and couldn't find anything that was particularly comprehensive.

For record, I very much hate policies created by dba and network teams, since they want to stick to rule book and prevent honest developer from completing project.
