Your job evaluates to false or do you mean VB6?

  •  I got an email from a recruiter with the subject lin:

    Need:Vb.Ne<wbr>t and not .net

    Description:

VB.NET developer to modify AJAX based website.  Work as part of a development team
in an agile development environment based on Scrum.

    Required:

•5+yrs .NET Experience -  (will be no C# Development)
    VB.NET in last project required
    •Experience with AJAX required
•5+yrs Experience developing applications using MS SQL Server, T-SQL and Stored Procedures
•3+yrs Experience doing rich internet development using JavaScript, AJAX and XML
•Excellent oral and written communications skills
•Excels in a agile team based environment

I think this is the same company that keeps sending me job descriptions for a company I worked for in the past.  My resume obviously has high keyword match rates, but they apparently don't bother actually reading the resume.  These guys apparently do the spray-and-pray method of recruiting: search Monster/Dice for anyone with matching keywords, skip screening the resume and send them the job description.

Given some of the conversations I've had with recruiters, they probably wouldn't understand what they're reading even if they did read the resume.  These guys probably just submit any warm body with a matching resume as prospects, which probably explains why recruiters are so skittish about submitting people to companies.

  • I wanted to reply something extremely funny but when I used the "Quote" button the textbox got filled with such a long and nasty Word-generated html content that it ruined the momentum. Next time please remember to notepad any content coming from Word or Outlook.

  • Hmm, I want to see..

    heh

  •  It was a test.  You both failed.

  • I still can't believe I found this inside the HTML code of the first post:

    <br style="font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:13px;font-style:normal;font-variant:normal;font-weight:normal;letter-spacing:normal;line-height:normal;orphans:2;text-indent:0px;text-transform:none;white-space:normal;widows:2;word-spacing:0px;" />

Thus, I say that ooblek is TRWTF.

  • Discourse touched me in a no-no place

I am surprised blakeyrat does not have one, just imagine how many free hugs he could have had by now.

I also am seriously tempted to add that picture to my signature.

And who wants to bet the application is all Webforms and none of the developers could write a line of JS to save their lives?

Yes, but who'd want to hug him so often?

I also suspect that would make him complain, hence further shortening interval to the next required hug.
