Android literal wtf
-
Android has a built-in logging facility, implemented as a class called android.util.Log. (See http://developer.android.com/reference/android/util/Log.html) for details. There's a series of functions called wtf, for example:
public static int wtf (String tag, Throwable tr)
What a Terrible Failure: Report an exception that should never happen. Similar to wtf(String, String), with an exception to log.

Nice! What does the resulting log file look like when this does happen?

This appeared on the front page a couple of years ago.

Article linked is dated about 10 months ago - does that really count as 'a couple of years ago?'

Yikes. Only if you look quickly enough that the '09' blends into the year....I blame Global Warming.

I did a search before posting, and didn't see that post.

F/ANDRO_CIV(21282): android.util.Log$TerribleFailure: the REAL wtf is probably JavaScript.
F/ANDRO_CIV(21282): at android.util.Log.wtf(Log.java:260)
F/ANDRO_CIV(21282): at android.util.Log.wtf(Log.java:239)

Oh, bonus amusement from the dump:

TRWTF is that all frameworks don't have this. And developers end up logging things that never happen with the regular logging routines. Obviously not enterprisey enough.

I'd think this is a log message intended for the situation where you state the following:
"holy crap, my variable is null, and the battery just exploded, and the acid leaked all over my balls, and we still have to send an error report with the details while the antena is on fire"
