Ad for Web Designer

  • I found this kind of funny - not super duper funny, but kind of funny. This ad was posted just today. This guy wants a "dynamic flash-based website" in about 1 month and he's willing to pay gasp $500 for it.

in case the img link doesn't work, here's the url to the ad.

  • Hmm... Photoshop, Flash, and Dreamweaver combinded can come to $1500 to $2000, depending on where and when you buy. I wonder if Jason realized that when he was placing the ad?

where and when... and if... Nonprofessionals (the only ones who might accept this offer) often use the CD-RW editions.

  • How can you be skilled in dreamweaver and at the same time have a keen eye for subtle quality? Isn't that an oxymoron?

If you have any real skill (which also means that you never use the WYSINWYG view, mixed at best) Dreamweaver is actually a quite fine tool for writing HTML, CSS, JS and the odd piece of PHP. Recent versions also have quite good stuff such as the dreamweaver templates and such for collaborative work and easy deployments when you're not allowed (or don't want to bother setting up) more complex things such as a real (nestable) template engine, a VCS, ...

As far as HTML, CSS and JS editing goes, DW MX 2004 (pure code mode) is actually one of the best softwares out there.

  • Some questions to ponder...

Is there such thing as an HTML Enterprise Architect?

    What exactly is Enterprise HTML?

... who spoke of "Enterprise HTML"?
