85% WORSE!

I have this free program called Secunia Personal Software Inspector which tells me which of my programs need patches and stuff. Pretty useful. But when I first installed it, I patched everything up and noticed this strange message:
I think it was a typographical error or something because now it says "13% higher." (I'm not sure how they would get the scores of people without the program installed, though.)

Clearly everyone without it scores 185%.

I find it interesting that they admit so freely that installing their software reduces your security by 85%. The honesty is refreshing, though I doubt it is good for business :)

It's a security application, why would you expect it to be capable of doing basic math? :p

I used to have one of those update checker programs, but it was a long, long time ago. The majority of the software I use these days does this by itself. I thought those programs were extinct by now.

I don't really like programs calling home so I usually have it disabled. I also use Secunia PSI on my mom's computer as she's always getting viruses and such. (Greatly reduced since I installed Firefox with AdBlock Plus. Also, in case you're wondering, I'm 17.)

Uh, no, I wasn't. Are you sure you're on the right forum?

In case you were wondering why I mentioned my mom.

Right. It's inconcievable that someone older than 17 might help their mom with her computer.

Oh. If you want to talk about your mom, I believe morbiuswilters and bstorer will be along real soon.

Eh, compared to the chicks I've banged, she's a solid C+.

Is that somewhere between C and C++?

Yes. But really, morbs is being subjective with that rating. She's an Objective C.Eh, compared to the chicks I've banged, she's a solid C+.

Is that somewhere between C and C++?I didn't know it was possible to simultaneously love and hate some one so strongly.
