An optimistic visitor counter

  •  So, OK. Somebody posted a link, I clicked it, and ended up on a Neo-Nazi website. This is the internets, so nothing strange here.

...until I scrolled down out of amusement, that is, and noticed their visitor counter. A fourteen-digit visitor counter.

That's right, these people apparently think that it is not out of the question that their site would get ten trillion visits, or more.

  • Theyre just securing the future

It's so that when someone inevitably launches a DDoS against them, they can see how many hits it took for their site to go down.

  •  WTF? They really exist?  I thought they were only form The Blues Brothers...<object height="344" width="425"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/jhozx819izU&amp;hl=it&amp;fs=1&amp;"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jhozx819izU&amp;hl=it&amp;fs=1&amp;" mce_src="http://www.youtube.com/v/jhozx819izU&amp;hl=it&amp;fs=1&amp;" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" height="344" width="425"></object>

  • They're neo-nazis.  Fourteen is their favourite number.

One for each finger and toe.

For the sake of the argument, let's assume these 5000 hits were from one week, then they would have capacity for a 350 million year Reich.

The German Nazis' favorite numbers are 88 or 18. The only obvious Nazi I've ever seen was wearing a t-shirt that read "Support 81 Heilbronn" (sic!).

  • The counter probably started at 501, too.
