The economy is so bad, even sponges are affected

Now how will the bus be able to soak up spills???

  • Lucky you. "Down south" (where I used to live), the eqivelent of a "Day Rover" costs £5 (which is actually less than the return fare between any of the most common destinations).

Although we do seem to get new buses every couple of years and each route has it's own logo and poster campaign, so obviously they're spending our money in the right places... </sarcasm>

  • That £5 is probably better value though. These buses date from about 1990, and I believe have been washed twice since.

There, are, many. Previous award winning. Signs, from these; people. This is just the latest.

The last notice to go up used the rarely seen date format of "Monday, 2009". Thanks for narrowing that down to 52 of 365 days for us!

Yes indeed, I recall the indignity of having to use these jokers between Luton and Dunstable for a while a few years back; the windows so shit-stained you literally couldn't see out of them, and sounding like they were about to simultaneously break down and fall apart at any moment.

The busses I used to take to high school used to pop out of gear going up a hill. The driver had to hold the gear stick in second to make it. The ticket was free (paid by the government) as I lived a certain distance away from the closest school.
