Just a minor WTF

  • I would expect better from a website that is all about creating bigger, faster and more reliable websites.

I really want to buy the Ma Gu Mo book, but I'm not sure if it's worth the $2.

    High Scalability

  • For the love of ammoQ, stop making JPEG screenshots!!

I admit it took me a very long time to see the WTF. I was about to post that I don't see one and then I realized that it wasn't you who cropped the shop.

For the love of whoever you want, stop bitching. If you don't see the WTF, if you don't consider it to be a WTF, it doesn't mean it's not there. If you're too lazy to find the WTF on your own, shut up! Nobody asked you to find it. Web pages might render properly in some browsers, which is why people use screenshots. They may also change or disappear, which is why people use screenshots. Telling what the WTF is before posting the screenshot would make it TRWTF, like explaining a joke before you actually tell the joke. Posting the WTF after the screenshot, for stupid people who can't find it on their own, would also be TRWTF, because then, those people would begin to make comments on things they didn't realize themselves and had to be explained to them and those people will try to cover up the fact that they're sooo stupid by posting comments like "that's not a WTF" or "you're TRWTF" or "stop making JPEG screenshots"

    Have a nice day :)

  • Lol what crawled up your arse this morning...

I agree stop posting JPEG screenshots, but post PNG ones!

  • And stop posting without quoting the parent. It's very difficult to follow conversations in flat view when you don't know who the reply was for. Many people find it difficult to follow conversations in threaded view and stick to flat view, so why don't you just do a click to quote the parent before posting the reply? It's just ONE fucking click. You don't have to lift 10 lbs or anything, just apply a bit of pressure to the left mouse button with your index finger.

If anyone begins to bitch about using a computer or an interfasce without a mouse: I DON'T CARE - if you're so stupid that you can't even figure out that I made a generalization and you're a particular breed which nobody cares about, you should die.

PS: Your nose was what crawled up my arse this morning.

Not that I've tried it, but doesn't Firefox (and presumably its addons) work on Macs?

'cause I was late for work today. But tomorrw I'll start planting danderlions again, because I'm taking the day off.

Also, I like ranting. I like to keep my posts excessively short, strict, succint, concise and to the point or excessively long. You wouldn't like to read the comments I leave behind in my source code...

Really?  Who gives a shit.  Is your computer really so slow that it takes more than .5 seconds to render a JPEG?   It's not like I posted 100 of them so it took 20 seconds for the page to render.  I didn't realize that I had to make everything a PNG.  Oh noes! Don't use the JPEG format, the internets can't handle one single JPEG!!!

No. It's because JPEG screenshots look awful and often take more space. You have to make screenshots PNG, not everything, at least when they are mostly text. It's not like it's difficult to select a different option when saving.

Sure, it's not hard to select a different option to save the file as, agreed.  But you derailed a thread because you didn't like the format of the screenshot file...  As far as looking awful, it doesn't look pixilated to me.  The scale looks fine.  Maybe its my eyesite, but I can't tell the difference between the JPEG image and the PNG one I created just now for reference.

Sure, didn't you ever read Hamlet?

    LORD POLONIUS

Do you know me, my lord?

    HAMLET

Excellent well; you are a cockmonger.

They go back and forth like that for a while, Hamlet calling Polonius' daughter a slut and Polonius comparing Hamlet to Method Man.  Later Rosenshiznitz and Guizzlestern show up and help Hamlet pimp his play. Or something like that; I don't speak ancient British.

You have to print it, place it on top of a wooden table and take a picture. That picture should be scanned, saved in JPG and, only then, converted to PNG. That's because an analogic camera has much better resolution and scanners are a proven technology.
