  •  Did some window shopping today and noticed this "news item":

They use Flash to show off the big LCD TVs these days???

  • Don't know what happened to your image but in IE7 all I get is one pixel line. Is this the link?

Must be on your part, works fine here.

I set the width to 100% and deleted the height (within the TinyMCE image insertion window). I now remember reading that IE doesn't like height="" and it puts a "1" in there; whereas most other browsers would take that as "undefined" and calculate the height according to aspect ratio. I took the photo with my mobile phone (1600x1200) and CBF resizing it.

  •  Is noone gonna say it? Ok, fine i'll do it... TRWTF is IE. There.

    /agree
Why CS can't just parse the image and extract the dimensions of the image automatically?... I don't know... lazy CS developers... Ignoring trivial tasks....

  • Why not use Flash? It's vector graphics, so it automatically scales up to the display's resolution.

It does.  However, it permits the person making the post to edit the dimensions if they want, which is what the OP did.  Presumably the CS (or TinyMCE) developers figured anyone who was dicking with the width and height of the image might actually have a clue what they were doing.  Clearly this is an unrealistic expectation, even for a site full of supposedly-knowledgeable people.

It would work just fine if CS skipped empty values instead of blindly writing out height="".

Your face would work just fine if I wasn't hitting it with a baseball bat.
