When being in control isn't enough

  • I was pulling up to a stoplight, behind another car.  It had a bumper sticker.  As my foot tightened on the brakes, I read:

Relax --- God is in control!

I have to admit, my foot was briefly tempted.

  • There's a Funny Stuff forum for stuff like this that dosen't belong in the sidebar.

  • It's funny - whenever there is a disaster with lots of people dead the survivors invariably thank god for surviving.  I guess the dead should thank god for being killed?  Maybe the survivors could change the wording of their thanks.  "Thank you god for killing that other schmuck instead of me!"

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God?
