Team Fortress 2: Last Updated in 1969
-
I was waiting for Team Fortress 2 to update, so from the Steam "Games" screen, I right clicked on TF2 and chose "View update news". Seems like Steam doesn't update the game very often:
-
OH HAY GUYS LOOK WHAT ZERO TURNS INTO
-
Actually, it seems to be doing it for all the different Steam games today. Very strange.
-
Goes firmly in the "obscure if you don't get the reference" category. Yep, somehow, somewhy, somewhere, someone says the file was updated at The Dawn of Time (0 seconds since the birth of the known universe - negative values accepted), which in POSIX is Jan 1, 1970, 00:00:00 UTC.
-
Hey, atleast its doing the timezone translation correctly; you have to give it that :p
-
It's one that crops up on PHP-based sites, as some of the date functions return -1 on error (sometimes the "error" is simply that you're trying to run PHP on Windows).
-
It's just acknowledging that any Valve game is an instant classic.
-
'69 was the last year I had really good acid. I think maybe the aliens are trying to tell me something...
-
I saw the 1969 thing as well. I wondered if I should screencap it, but then felt a wave of laziness hit me.

Or it's using -1 as value

In a way, the Sixties ended the day Team Fortress 2 was last updated...

Seems fitting; took them about two eternities to release the second one.

Yeah, that and the Stones concert at Altamont really put an end to that whole "flower power" business.
