I should hope they already gave you a paper copy of whatever you need. This could be useful just for your records, and hopefully will be available january 7th next year.

Yeah, it's crazy. I have received two "corrected" 1099s from ETrade AFTER I finished filing my return. I've decided to ignore them, since there's no telling how many more there will be. If IRS wants more money, they'll bill me.

...and penalize you. And charge you interest. Really, ETrade's suckage should not be your financial loss (anymore than necessary). File the 1040X, and if you don't want to switch brokers, at least file for an extension next year.
