A minor contradiction

  • Check out the slogan on the Oust home page.

    LIFE. BREATHE IT IN.

This product is an aerosol microbe killer... so... isn't that slogan a little misleading?

  • They didn't change the product for the Dutch market. It sounds ridiculous. It's either "Oost! Oost!" or "what the hell is an oust?"

Hell, it sounds ridiculous in English.

  • From the page on the air sanitizer:

CAUTION: Avoid contact with food and food utensils. Avoid
contact with eyes. Before using product throughout your home, use in
one room and wait 24 hours to ensure that no one has any physical
reactions to the product. Asthma and allergy sufferers: Consult your
physician before using this product in your home.

And from the carpet and upholstery odor eliminator page:

CAUTION: EYE IRRITANT. Do not spray toward face. Avoid
contact with eyes. If contact with eyes occurs, rinse with plenty of
water for 20 minutes. If irritation persists, consult a physician.
Avoid inhalation of spray mist. Sensitive individuals should use in
small area before treating large rooms or whole house.

    "Breath it in" indeed.

  •

    Kinda like ...

GE ... we bring good things to life

  • To be fair, the slogan is "Life: Breathe in it" and not "Oust: Breathe it in."  I don't think that they're suggesting strapping a few cans of Oust to your back and living off it exclusively, SCUBA style.

    I AM LORD VADER

    PSCHHH-AAHHHH

    PSCHHH-AAHHHH

  • The real wtf is that they didn't just write "Life: breathe it in. Oust: don't breathe it in, but spray it where something smells and then don't breathe in for a while. Maybe breathe in somewhere else other than where you just sprayed."

Why did you pick that search string? What does GE have to do with love canal?

    They tried that.

    Didn't sell.

That sounds pretty obvious to me: as we all know from the SSDS sources, 6 search terms are better than 3. Thus, 4 are also better than 2. qed
