Profanity in comments

  • Hey,

Someon had fun with Google Code Search:

    http://codeulate.com/?p=7

    Merry x-mas everyone!

  • I'm pretty sure that my favorite one there is this:

/* Sun, you just can’t beat me, you just can’t. Stop trying,
    * give up. I’m serious, I am going to kick the living shit
    * out of you, game over, lights out. */

You've just got to respect that kind of determination.

  • i’ve coined a new word for this: lametarded.

That's priceless, I definitely have to incorporate that into my vocaublary.

  • Those are all fairly weak.  If you're going to be profane in your comments, you've got to impress me.  It's too bad George Carlin didn't write code for a living.  I bet he would have written some fantastic comments.

So maybe we aren't going to get any blushing  sailors off of that list, but this one is amazing:

    # no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no
    # no. fuck no. I am a fucking
    # moron.

And right after it is a line commented out dealing with thread synchronization (which really means he may or may not be right).  Just having buckinghamshire plastered all over the comment doesn't give it heart.
