FTP? Yeah, F it!

  • A glimpse into my horrible life..........

The company I work for has several offices around the country.  My **manager** had a file on his computer that another person needed across the country.  Here's the crazy-tricky part: it was too big to attach in an email.  What to do, what to do.......oh I know!  He had the other person go out, buy a flashdrive, ship it to us, he loaded it with the file, then shipped it back.

It wasn't until the package was on its way back that he realized, that maybe.....just maybe.......there was a more modern and much faster way to send an electronic copy of something.

  • The obvious solution would be to rename it 'BritneySpears
    Naked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.jpg.vbs.scr.exe' and share
    it out on Kazaa.

Within hours the other person would have had access to a robust
multi-sourced download with the bonus of having a redundant distributed
backup. What's this FTP thing you talk of?

  • "What's this Eff-Tippy you keep talking about?"

        Hehehe

        dZ.

This could be good...if they shipped a decent-sized flash drive which
you could replace with a smaller cheaper one.  Free flashdrive
    upgrades!

  • FTP = Fedex Transport Protocol :)

Bwahahahahahahaha!!!!  Cough, Cough,  Muahahahahahahahaha!!  I love it! [:D][:D]

  • Maybe he's just REEEEAALLLY clever.

Maybe it's so sensitive that he can't take the risk of allowing those
internet hackers to maybe see it, so he's doing the 'confidential fedex
    shuffle'.

    Maybe.

    Oh, ok, maybe not.

Why didn't you tell him to use FTP then? Or nobody
    had an FTP server setup?
