The one where @Captain does PowerShell and Exchange

  • We use Office 365 for our email and a few other things. Recently, one of our room calendars started acting funny. A user wasn't able to make changes to the calendar (i.e., to book the room).

shudder OK, great. I really hate Outlook calendars.

I talked the user through how to use Outlook 2016 to schedule appointments.

Out of curiosity, I signed into the calendar by making myself a full-access delegate. Apparently, that triggered something, because now the calendar doesn't show up in the room list. And isn't shared or something. Normally, I'd be able to turn on sharing from the room's mailbox settings (since I have full access delegation). But the option to share or not share the calendar doesn't even show up.

    WTF?

I'm in an Exchange/PowerShell session now, but of course, I have no idea what I'm looking for. HELP!

  • I ran

    Get-Mailbox -RecipientTypeDetails RoomMailbox

and found my missing room in the list. Curiouser and curiouser.

  • For some reason I read this as The one where Captain does Power Exchange". I was rather disappointed when I realized what it actually said.
