Break a site for me, earn real cash. Details within.

    I've built a site, I'd like it tested. Y'all like breaking things, so let's make both of us happy.

    Go ahead try to break the site. Rewards and Rules below

    Rewards:

    All prizes are listed and will be dispensed in USD, there may be a small exchange fee payable by the recipient if they wish to convert the reward to a different currency.

    • Any of the OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities found pay out 50$ to the first person to submit a valid report
      • Payout doubles if vulnerability can be exploited to affect other sessions on the site, either current or future
    • Poison requests pay out $25 to the first person to submit a valid report for each unique class of poison request
      • Requests that affect only the requester are not considered poisoned, in order to be poisoned the request must affect other users in a negative manner
      • DOS and DDOS attacks don't count. Anyone can break a site with a big enough hammer, I'm looking for what you can break with a scalpel
    • Bug reports that do not qualify for any of the above rewards may be awarded 2 - 20$ at the judges discretion
      • The following qualities will be considered for determining discretionary rewards
        • Severity of the bug found
        • Quality of bug report
        • Quality of reproduction steps
        • Presence (or absence) of a bug fix included in the bug report
      • Cosmetic bugs and mobile bugs will be considered.
      • Mobile bugs in iOS or Windows phone, or bugs specific to Safari or OSX, will not pay out unless there is a bug fix provided by the reporter or other community member as I lack the hardware to reproduce and diagnose any bug against those platforms. Sorry.

    A Maximum of 500$ will be awarded on a first come, first served basis. Once the cash runs out you'll have to wait for the next round of my venture capital investing to come in to claim further rewards.

    The payout will be multiplied 1.5x for any award that is provided with an accepted GitHub Pull Request that resolves the bug. If a bug is filed that receives a payout and does not have an accompanying bug fix pull request, a pull request may be filed against the bug for an additional half payout of the original award amount

    Rules:

    • Bug reports should be filed against the project GitHub Repository
      • Bug reports entered in this thread will be considered valid if they are in a format that can easily be copy/pasted into
      • Copy and pasting a bug report from this thread into GitHub will be appreciated and awarded with kudos, but will not make the copypaster eligable for the reward unless they demonstrably and significantly improve the bug report upon filing.
    • Attacks on the server itself do not pay out, even if they result in a successful exploit, sorry.
      • I'm looking for bugs in my site itself, not in my server, so no hacking please, that's not part of this contest.
    • Kibitzing, both here or on , is appreciated but will not pay out in cold hard cash.
    • Cash rewards will be available on bug reports filed from 2017-11-28T00:00:00Z to 2017-12-12T00:00:00Z
    • Cash rewards that remain unclaimed as of 2017-12-24T00:00:00Z will be donated in total to Planned Parenthood and the ACLU at a 50/50 split.
    • Cash rewards will be dispensed via Google Wallet and can be cashed out from there, often with no fee to the recipient.

    I'd expect the images in steps 2 and 3 to be the same as the image in step 1.

    Repeating the steps again from #1 with the changed image produces another new image at step #2, which is repeated at step #3.

    hmm... known issue, i've been noodling how to fix it because the random chooser genuinely picks a random image each time, i've been thinking how to sticky it for the listing.....

    same behavior happens on sequence and daily if you happen to do this trick at the cutover for the hour or UTC day

    suggestions on ways to best resolve it are appreciated.

    @accalia The same effect can also be achieved by entering any size under 10px, including negative numbers (except for 0 which will just show the standard size(?)). 10px is fine. 1-9px displays in the listing, but breaks when using "Show Current Size". Negative numbers gives no images at all.

    Why can't I click the dots to go to a specific page?

    Update sizes should happen onClick of the update sizes button, not onBlur of the input field.

    Any invalid size should notify the user. Simply turning the background a shade of red should suffice.

    Loading a page with a specific size other than 300 gives a noticeable snap to the size. (e.g. change size, view avatar, go back).

    Why can't I click the dots to go to a specific page?

    Update sizes should happen onClick of the update sizes button, not onBlur of the input field.

    Any invalid size should notify the user. Simply turning the background a shade of red should suffice.

    Loading a page with a specific size other than 300 gives a noticeable snap to the size. (e.g. change size, view avatar, go back).

    i suspect this is an artifact of the fact that the avatars you see when viewing the 14 page listing are all exactly 300x300

    on page load it loads the original size of images and does the resizing in CSS. i should probably fart out some CSS to make the initial page load look correct before the JS loads and corrects the image sizes.....

    @JazzyJosh i think that sorts out all the issues you noticed, at least on Chrome.

    @accalia i refuse to report UI "bugs" if only because nothing pisses me off more than the user complaining that X text is in black font color instead of #1F130E color when the User Acceptance Testing instructions merely want them to validate that it shows the right fucking amount.

    I'd murder that motherfucker.

    so would i if i listed acturall User Acceptance Test Criteria..... but i didn't so whatever bugs i get i get.

    besides i do reserve the right to reject bugs with a fuck you if warranted, but so far they've all been pretty nice.

    well.... it is snowing so i could have done work from home and not worn pants but i had meetings.....

    So bugs were submitted by:

    None of the bugs were on the OWASP top 10, nor were any poison requests reported, so awards will be made at judges discretion. No PR's were submitted, so no multipliers will be applied.

    The judges have conferred and agreed on a bug bounty of 16$ to each of our bug submitters. Would @Cursorkeys, @sockpuppet7, @JazzyJosh, and @PJH contact me with an email address to send their winnings to?
