Ever play Bullfrog's Theme Hospital?

Someone's making a clone.
Become an aspiring architect, a successful manager and an ace doctor all at the same time. Design your very own hospital, tweak every detail or use one of the predefined models and just jump to the doctor’s duty.
Contract different insurance companies to gain access to patients with interesting medical conditions, perform examinations, laboratory tests and use various equipment to solve the diagnostic puzzles.
Is it the most fun for you to keep your staff and patients happy? Do you aim to cure as many people as possible or solve the most complicated cases?
Or do you maybe want to become the best manager and make the biggest profit? Our game will let you choose your priorities!

The website does not instill me with confidence in their attention to detail. Every image's alt tag is "thumb", even the images for the headings (which aren't in H1 tags).
Also, there appears to be a complete lack of bloaty heads to deflate.

Well, that's a dealbreaker. Especially since I already have theme hospital from Origin on the house

It’s even worse, per the site:
Learn about real world diseases and injuries and how to diagnose and cure them

I miss King Complex.

I sure did! That was an excellent game. I remember toggling HI-RES mode and marvelling at how photorealistic the game became (although at 1fps)
It also makes me a little sad to think that some games back then really spent time and energy making their content interesting, but that we don't really have that now... King complex, uncommon cold, surgeons who are deaf as a post and/or smell faintly of cabbage... little things that make you chuckle

Do they have a game mode with socialised healthcare for all citizens?
-
@julianlam That's a different game...
-
I enjoyed that game a lot. I finally beat it when I bought it on GOG several years ago. I hope the new game captures the essence of the old game
-
@twelvebaud Good gravy...

(I linked the cache because the wiki has been down for several days at this point and nobody can figure out why.)

75% discount (is the ratio between the current arbitrary price [€1.29] and the allegedly usual arbitrary price [€5.09]).
I bought it a while ago for my girlfriend. It's got a few glitches. Sometimes one of the doctors gets stuck, sometimes the whole game freezes. These are infrequent enough, fortunately.

IIRC, you had to design your hospital carefully to avoid staff or patients getting stuck. There was an art to getting it right. In later levels, you're looking to get multiple instances of all rooms (including the entrance desks) and you're looking to deck those rooms out fully. Each was almost always about managing a rush of patients with a new disease and getting your cashflow positive; once you'd got the money sorted and the diseases understood, you'd probably beat the level.
Also, strategically sending patients home to die was often a good option. REALISM!!!

There is
which is a reimplementation of the engine for current OSes.
it works great, you only need a copy of the original Theme Hospital.
