Bladerunner comes to Newcastle! Panic!!!

Idiots.
And, yes; it was dark for a couple of hours. A more reasoned article, from the same publisher strangely:
Mr Madge said: “There is quite a lot of low clouds associated with storm Ophelia. There was a quite a lot of rain and quite dense clouds that may be the reason for the apparent darkness.”
If you've noticed the low cloud and orange/red/yellow tint and wondered what it is, it seems the Sahara is to blame.
It is dust from the African desert that has been brought a lot as Ophelia approaches and has affected parts of the entire country with people on the South Coast seemingly experiencing it most of all.
Also down South, people have noticed a strange burning smell which the BBC weather Twitter account said could be due to forest fires in Portugal and Spain and winds being dragged to the UK with Ophelia.

It was really spooky where I am an hour or two ago, then it suddenly went to mostly normal-looking fog.
By now it's foggy out the windows but mixed sky out the roof, on account of I guess this building is just higher than the fog. Was supposed to be sunny this afternoon.

Correction noted; "clouds" is not the subject but the object of the prepositional phrase. Still think it should be reworded as it reads weirdly.
