John McAfee can now use his name again, except when he can't
-
"Under the settlement, McAfee agreed not to use his name, trademark his name or the phrase "John McAfee Privacy Phone," or use "John McAfee Global Technologies" in connection with cybersecurity- and security-related products and services.
He retained the right in other contexts to use his name in advertising, promotions and presentations"
???
I guess we'll see this soon:
New! McAfee Bass-O-Matic

I have trouble having that much sympathy for him. This is what happens when you use your personal name for the name of your products and then sell your company. He sold the trademark "McAfee", so just like anyone else, he can't use that trademark for competing products. It's not like he was prevented from saying "My name is John McAfee".
-
Well, he just needs to change his last name and he can use his name on cybersecurity products again. McAfee is a kinda stupid name anyway, I'd look to change it if I were him.

He would be better off changing his name.
i don't think he understands that the name McAfee has a pretty negative connotation attached to it, partly because of shitty software and partly because of his behavior.

I hope he considers Eugene Kaspersky as a valid name candidate too ... it would open a whole new market.
