Somebody recommend me a book on Android development

I may need to port stuff to an Android based device and I prefer to learn stuff from dead tree books

@wharrgarbl Define "Port Stuff"? Desktop app? website? iPhone app? What languages do you know? Experience?
I'm learning Xamarin - since I know .Net/C# - and am enjoying it. Learning Continuous Integration, Continuous Development through Xamarin CiCd and will dig deeper into Xamarin once Xamarin.Form Fundamentals arrives - both well reviewed on Amazon (which is why I ordered them).
I know the language (C#), the platform (Microsoft) and want to port an old application (Windows 2003 CE/C#) to a new platform that could be either iPhone, Android or Windows... so my choice of Xamarin might not be the right choice for you.

@WernerCD I'll port some C dlls, and maybe an app written in android studio, that other apps use to do stuff. (defining stuff would be personally identifiable information).
It's for a device that use android, but it isn't a phone, I expect it to be as weird as possible.

@wharrgarbl It's been years, but I used to like the Commonware stuff https://commonsware.com/Android/
It's an e-book though. So you'd have to print it out

I recently dug into Android a bit. Tried a few books and video courses. This is the best one for sure:

I've had good experiences with BNR. Both my pirated copy of BNR: Android and my purchased copy of BNR: Web Development.
