@Rhywden It isn't a headscarf. It is a Mantilla
-
@lucas1 The thread is over there
Also: I guess I'm the first German who has to explain to a Brit that this is a joke.
-
@Rhywden There's a thread for it? i thought was the way of life for the people who post here....

Shitty joke is shitty. or not.
-
@SlackerD OOooooh, someone hasn't got a sense of humor!
Any Germans in your family tree, by chance?
-
-
@lucas1 Jesus Christ, dude. The headscarf thing was intentional. Did you even read beyond the first sentence? Because otherwise you might have noticed that there was an even more glaring mistake...
... I still can't believe that a German has to explain a joke to a Brit.
Also, contrary to common belief, headscarves are not solely Islamic property. My own grandmother from Poland wore one.
-
@Rhywden I know what the joke was.
-
@lucas1 said in The Official Funny Stuff Thread™:

Yeah. Now that I've explained it!
-
@Rhywden Nope. I knew what the joke was it didn't work and you probably will never understand why.

The irony is completely lost isn't it?

Yes. For one of us at least.

@Rhywden That being you.

This is not a double post.

Are you sure you two guys aren't German? Because we Germans know a stick up the ass when we see it!
Maybe your grandmothers didn't tell anyone...

Irish and English ancestry, iirc. Nice projection, by the way.

Have you tried looking in a mirror?
Right. And you are just the one to tell me that a joke is shitty. Heh. Takes one to know one, I guess
Anyway, have fun being :)
Remember, though, that you just took a page out of the German Humor-Amputation-At-Birth book...
Toodles!
-
@Rhywden LOL you don't know when to give up.

Sorry I am not a complete fucking dullard.

Well my last post on here not arguing with you has quite a few upvotes mate.

@Rhywden They aren't even remotely the same thing.
I really wonder what you would make of these:
That's a KKK hat
-
@Rhywden I tried to make that joke (close enough anyway) at work, but was preempted by a colleague. Guess it's too obvious?

But I see I've been 'd

It's rather a "hat also used by the KKK".
-
@JBert Did someone ?

@lucas1 said in Men without Women without Hats:
A mantilla is a traditional Spanish lace or silk veil or shawl worn over the head and shoulders, often over a high comb called a peineta, popular with women in Spain.
For certain values of "popular".

This argument is getting dangerous.
Maybe we need... some safety?

YMBNH. Also, the real comedy is you thinking that Hitler was an economic libertarian and then going "The source is in German, I can't translate it." when asked for a source. @Polygeekery

You do realize we have the Trolley Garage for stupid trolling attempts? If you didn't get the joke, fine. Then again, you're obviously a prime target for the ignore script. Don't bother replying, I won't see your and @lucas1 posts in the future as you're obviously too dumb to know where to post stuff.

Last time I mentioned that, someone made a reference to people being triggered.
-
@antiquarian That couldn't have been me!

@PolygeekeryFFS. Was that really necessary?
I don't always agree with @Rhywden, but he's absolutely right here: References to the garage should be kept in the garage, especially if they've stopped being funny when my grandma was born.

Garage stuff should stay in the garage, but that joke is still funny because the statement was so preposterous.
-
Also, FWIW, @Rhywden's joke was pretty funny also. I upvoted it when it was still in the Funny Stuff thread, or wherever it started.

And cheers, I won't have to hear from the pretentious German physicist again.
Edit: That's not a troll, by the way.

I'll have to take your word for it. I don't get the context of the joke.
-
@SlackerD this explains so much. the context is why it is funny and less pretentious.
-
@Arantor said in Men without Women without Hats:

Explains what, exactly? I didn't say that the joke was pretentious, I said that Rhywden was pretentious.

God forbid that a joke has context!
-
@SlackerD no, no, seems to me that you think he's pretentious because he made a joke that you didn't get.
-

You're mistaken. I'd go into more detail, but apparently mentioning a certain sub-forum on here is verboten. And as usual, you don't know what you are talking about.
Edit: And apparently Rhywden has a very short memory.
-
@SlackerD I'm just saying that's how it seemed to me. Unless you're also of the crowd who feels that people who have opinions that differ from yours is fundamentally wrong, I'm completely in my rights to have an opinion. Just because it doesn't match your perspective doesn't invalidate my opinion.
Also, would love to hear more about the times I don't know what I'm talking about since this is apparently usual. I was under the impression that, yes, I got it wrong from time to time but that it wasn't normally the case that I was wrong.

That's fair. And no, I'm not in that crowd, and I never made a claim that it made your opinion invalid. And the last line was added mostly out of anger. I don't follow your posts on here that much, tbh.

But that's just a friendly assumption of someone being awful scum, nothing serious.
