Search does not preserve fully quoted searches
-
Go to https://what.thedailywtf.com/search, search for something entirely in quotes. After the page loads, notice that the search field is not in quotes. The results are the expected quoted search at least, but subsequent searches would not be quoted without manual intervention.
Quoted substring searches keep their quotes just fine, even if the full string begins and ends in quotes.
For example:
"deleted posts topic"
turns intodeleted posts topic
and actually searches the former.
"deleted posts" "topic"
stays the same.
-
@coderpatsy no, it searches
"deleted posts topic"
but turns intodeleted posts topic
in the search box. If you click search again, then it searches justdeleted posts topic
.
-
@anotherusername I tried to say that. Was it not clear?
-
@coderpatsy You did. I guess I should've read your whole post instead of just the title...
-
@coderpatsy I noticed that if you file it in the nodebb github issues they fix it, sometimes fast, but creating a topic on this category is useless.

@wharrgarbl only two months? You're losing your touch!

Can play around with it on https://community.nodebb.org/search?term="nodebb is running"&in=titlesposts&sortBy=relevance&sortDirection=&showAs=posts
