@anotherusername Shouldn't you be checking for month === 4?

Welcome to JavaScript. Please leave your sanity at the door: you won't be needing it.

Yes, it's ridiculous. No idea where they could have gotten that from.

So not only did someone get it wrong once, but everyone felt like they needed to get it wrong the same way afterwards. I feel the need for a set of emojis...
(also, C/C++ got it -ically right in the descriptions at least, since days are "days of the month" while months are "months since January" and not "months of the year" or something else... that doesn't really help, though, except making it obvious that someone saw the issue and decided that it was easier to fix the description rather than the problem itself...)
(and I love how the range for seconds changes from 0-61 in C90 to 0-60 in C99... even with the footnote about leap seconds, there has to be some "interesting" discussions about that!)

minimise the chances of accidentally viewing NSFW images at work?
but doesn't stop your network/PC from downloading those images in the first place and getting you fired when they review the logs!

@RaceProUK worst I've had is when I connected my home pc to the work VPN one time to work on a project and forgot to turn off my Torrents.... ;( I saw all the errors pop up and was like wtf... OH !!!

I rant about this (usually regarding Java) every couple of years.
-
@boomzilla Sorry, I don't keep track of everything you rant about...
Although tbh, I knew for the month from previous rants (yours or someone else), even though I've never done any Java or JavaScript (and I'm suddenly quite glad I use Qt for almost all my C++ instead of the std lib).
What really threw me off in the code above is the discrepancy between days and months. I can vaguely understand someone, long ago, being too indoctrinated by C 0-indeed arrays and starting at 0. But what twisted and deranged mind could have come up with two different conventions for two things that are almost always used together ??
-
@remi Exactly.
