Exposing the shadow forum government

We have a shadow group of forum admins operating over the normal group of @mods we're familiar. Probably members of the Illuminati and the alien lizards that rule the internet.
There is this @Global-Moderators that @pjh just called to decide in the downvote change that excludes @boomzilla . Ant then there is this @administrators group that include @InedoJohn that is probably their leader, operating quietly and almost never mentioned.
The Illuminati are starting to take over the Internet.
-
Deep State!
-
Well, according to the group title, the @mods are still "minions of Discourse".
What's going on here? Have the JeffBorg taken over everything? Are the @Global-Moderators maybe our only hope?

Unlikely. Being our only hope sounds like work.
-
@loopback0
After all, the last time "our only hope" got called in to save the day, he had to save some kid on his lawn from a bunch of sand raiders, come out of retirement, and gallantly sacrifice himself to become one with the Force.Yup, that's definitely work.
-
Also, I pronounce this thread / topic moderatorly funny.

Well, @boomzilla doesn't seem to be part of that group, so @abarker is the only lazy one amongst them.

I'm trying to cut back on the global imperialism these days.

Do you want to get abducted? Because this is how you get abducted.

Did someone abduct a word from your post?
-
@loopback0 I literally had to read it three times before I saw it.
-
@anonymous234 That's nothing - I had to read your post like 10 times before I figured out you edited the missing word in.

Have you seen any fnords?
What do you mean, you haven't read the Illuminatus! Trilogy? I thought that was a requirement for anyone who wanted to talk about shadow governments. OK, it's not, but maybe it should be.
-
@PJH is a global moderator? Γ_o
Does that mean @PJH has to do twice as much not-work because he's also an admin?
-
I personally believe @ben_lubar is the only in charge. Mods and global mods and admins are all just dwarfs in his never-ending game.

I only read it quite recently and my god, this is not a book that has aged well! It's full of seventies memes (what? they weren't called like that at the time, but that's what they are) and stuff that might have been cool at the time but now... meh. 2/5, won't read again.
-
@remi I read it maybe 6 or 7 years ago. Having been raised Discordian, it was nice to see where a lot of the stuff came from. I also finished it just before going to a festival on a lake so I was expecting nazi zombies all weekend
-
@Jaloopa Yeah, there are some fun bits in it (nazi zombies!) and it certainly has some value as the basis for a lot of things that crops up in popular culture here and there, and therefore as an "historical" work. But as a pure literature work, it's way past its sell-by date.
