@dangeRuss Last updated 2013...hmm....that's not a good sign.
You mean stable software that doesn't have any bugs?
No, I'm talking about software that exists.
In any case, the server software it would be connecting to has changed since then, so yeah, that's a big red flag.

Not if the API hasn't changed. The only issues we've had with that software is I believe when a laptop comes out of sleep mode, you can no longer connect without restarting the service.

Maybe not even if the API has been stable. That's just not how software works in the real world, where your client ends up working around server bugs and then breaks when the server bug is fixed.
I know that I've had to update my VPN client when the server has updated so my confidence in an unrelated 3rd party tool not having to change isn't great.

You're all I'm pretty sure we used Shrew Soft VPN Client with our Juniper gateway
The client is actually called
ike
apparently and it's in the Ubuntu repos, so I gave it a whirl. I have no idea how to use it to login to the VPN. There are a zillion different security options and no obvious way to enter my username, PIN, and OTP. Since I have a working solution it's not worth the effort to try to figure it out.

@boomzilla I forget if this has been mentioned yet, but latest Waterfox removes the NPAPI restrictions: https://www.waterfoxproject.org/blog/waterfox-52.0-release-download
