Media player for Internet Radio streams on W10?

@anonymous234 That's cool I guess?
My point was just that Office exists on it. Nothing more, nothing less.
Which was kind of a sidenote, alongside my general point of "Most software isn't crossplatform".

SQL server on Linux is pretty new. Is it out of beta testing yet ?
Not that I'm aware of.

Its good to know android isn't Linux.
Weren't you discussing desktop software? Also, Android is, from a user's perspective, a completely different beast to Linux, even though it runs on the Linux kernel. In this case, it's not so much the kernelspace that matters, but the userspace, and Android's is fundamentally very different from your typical Linux userspace.

Sadly, most Linux software is made by people like you, who only believe in supporting other Real OS TM
While true for the smaller projects, almost every program that has managed to gain widespread popularity has a Windows version, usually officially (GIMP's Windows build isn't technically official).

On the other hand, Visual Studio, IE, Edge, Outlook, Word, Excel, Exchange etc are only available for Windows.
The lack of IE, Edge, and Exchange on Linux is no great loss
The lack of the Office suite though, that's more significant, as is the lack of VS. However, I don't see that changing any time soon.

VS at least, is likely to come to Linux. It may not be the same VS, but I imagine that once they get the former Xamarin Studio polished enough on Mac, they'll start braving the frothy torrent that is Linux.
-
@Magus Well, they do have VSCode already…

VSCode is closer to Notepad than Visual Studio.
-
@TimeBandit Yeah, it's really been great ever since they added syntax highlighting, projects, Roslyn, and intellisense to Notepad.

@Tsaukpaetra
Well, after having used WMP for a few days and getting sick of their UI for network streams, and not finding any other recently updated alternatives, I went back to VLC and it had been working for a couple weeks... until this morning, when the same error recurred.Changing the caching option for the stream made no impact to how VLC behaved.

@izzion Looks like there might be a streaming mode available for foobar2000 somehow. It's one of the most popular audio programs among audiophiles (as ineffective as that is as an endorsement). It's fairly simple and easy to use.
-
@Magus The kind of audiophiles who use gold-plated ethernet cables?
-
@PleegWat Dude, one of my friends had a pair of like $3k headphones, with custom braided oxygen-free silver cables, but switched from them to copper because the silver 'made the audio too bright'.
While yes, that sort of person uses foobar (and probably considers it the One True Audio Player), but they aren't they only ones. It's legitimately pretty good.
-
@Magus So including, but not limited to, the kind of audiophile who uses gold-plated ethernet cables.
Using gold/silver for analog signals is not as silly as doing so for digital ones.

There's nothing quite like the warmth you get from the old rubber and cloth covered cables they used in the Fifties.

That's disappointing.
And still nothing in the Messages window (I think you can get it through the toolbar or Ctrl-M )?
